If/when the two 5 star WRs get back, Daniels might have more of a downfield passing game.  Clemson was coming hard so they were pretty stuck with short quick strikes, and a few roll outs.  There was enough of a running game to mostly control field position, White looked solid.  The OL was maybe "OK" considering the DL talent they faced.

UAB up next, might well come out stale and puffed up and be close at the half.

I am sold on clemsons d.. Venable is dang good at his craft.

From what I can yank out of a single exposure, I'm thinking uga is 90% bama good.  That's within a margin to beat bama in the seccg..

Bama is a dang machine that some ass hole just flipped the switch in the "on" position yesterday.  They remind me of a three phase 24" planer I saw blow up one day... it could eat material like it was cool, but there was a wire which looked like perhaps a barbed wire from way back when the tree was a sappling... buried well under the surface.  That little snag as that bad ass machine skimmed material off the surface caused the helical blade to chunk, chunking itself in the path of the adjacent ones, and then the cascade.... destroyed that planer.

UGA can and perhaps will cause enough snag to destroy bama.  I wouldn't vet that statement, but.... theyre nearing that good on D.

A little early, aren't you,Drew? I assure you Georgia's offense will need to improve by an enormous amount to have any chance.

Dabo was a damn fool to get into a slobberknocker with Kirby.  The UGA offense could have taken more chances if Kirby thought UGA needed to but he knew what he had.

Drew, I hate to agree with Joe on anything ;) but he's right.  UGA may be able to fight Alabama on defense, but they're going to need to score points against a defense as quality as Clemson, or better.  Because however good the Dawg's D is, Bama is still going to score some points.

Also, you need to stop looking at the helmet of LSU.  They made virtually no improvements from last year.  The OL is trash.  The defense has communication issues.  This is a different staff with the same problems.  You tell me the constant.  When's the last time you saw an LSU team that couldn't run the ball?  For two years in a row?  With this much talent?  At least in the 90's we were outmatched from a personnel standpoint, even when coaching was good.  This program can't even use that for an excuse.

I have COVID right now, and I'd much rather deal with that than watch this shitshow.

It might turn out UCLA is really good.  Might.

That Clemson was seriously hampered on O is kinda obvious, but still..... to be held like that?  An "off" game for them, even against bama, would be "only" 21 points.  Their new QB never looked comfortable..... but... there was a reason for that beyond his incapacity (or less capacity than "sunshine" from last season) and it was that dawg d.  I won't say he's good, but I will say he's not as bad as he was made to look last night.

Speaking of being high on the dawgs is as much their schedule and competition as how good they are. Who will challenge then from the east other than Florida? So who "can" take them down reasonably speaking and not in an upset?  I'll tell ya who, in my opinion and not who "can" but "will"... themselves.  They soil the sheets every season... this one won't be different.

It's been said and I subscribe that "coaching/scheme places a player in position, and talent/skill makes the play"... leaning on that, I "believe" UMs defense not very good and which made Bama's O shine and showcase.  UMs problem is both coaching AND talent.  Bama suffers from neither.  Clemson suffers from neither especially on D... UGA played conservatively and because that same play that cost Clemson the game could have happened to UGA... if Bama was playing Clemson it would have been similar imHo, and a 21-10ish affair.  It's week one in a game that will either make or break your season, and the margin of win will be forgotten so long as it is a win.

Yall have known me long enough to know how I figure on these things... its not rocket science.  Based on ONE game (which of course is reckless and fool hearted), I'd guess bama could score on Clemson between 21 and 31, and Clemson could score on bama 14-21.  I think UGA would have held UM to 10-14 and would have scored 35-45.  I'm seeing parody between the two teams insofar as the components we've witnessed.... what only a fool would suggest is UGA is as deep as bama, and in 14 more weeks that delta will be expounded- UGA holding the line and Bama just swapping cogs in and out.  Yall can call me crazy but THAT is what I see as the difference right now.

A lot of love for a team that scored 3 points on offense.

Sorry to hear that, man, hope the symptoms are mild and short lived.

The UGA offense should get some better when their WRs return.  They threw a lot of passes to a freshman TE to compensate.

All we know now is their defense looks very good and their offense needs work.

It might turn out UCLA is really good.  Might.

It might turn out that their DL is pretty good, but nowhere as good as LSU made them look.  Remember last year's opener when everybody thought maybe Clanga was pretty good because of how they thrashed LSU in the opener?  Yeah....no.  LSU just sucked.

I don't keep track of things like I used to, or watch like I used to, so I just looked up to see neither of LSU's new coordinators has ever been a coordinator before.  That's not done at LSU in the modern era.  Off the top of my head, I can't think of Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Ohio State, etc. who hires first time coordinators.  I know in Baton Rouge the thinking is this is not the place to learn your craft, it's a job you get when you've put your time in elsewhere.  This is why you don't ever see LSU promote position coaches to coordinators.  You do it at a place like Bowling Green or a major school, if we can snag one from there, and then you come here.  This was highly irregular, and O's ambition to find an up and comer nobody else knows about probably isn't going to pay off.

As for UGA....beats me.  All I can say is their defense looked good against a QB I don't think is at the same level Clemson has had the last several years.  Not yet anyway.  Who will challenge them in the east?  I never count out Florida, because as sure as I think the Dawgs can't lose, that's when UF finds a way to make them look like turd in the cocktail party and sticks it to them.  Or the inexplicable South Carolina loss, which isn't unheard of and tends to open the door, record-wise, for a team like Florida.  On the flip side, if they do meet Alabama in the CG, the Tide QB didn't look on par with the last couple of Gump QBs either.  Not yet, anyway.  So I don't know.  Just basing on general trends, which is not necessarily meaningful, but it's all I got, UGA needs to make some offensive strides because I have serious doubts a defense can hold a clicking Alabama offense to 21 points.

Hasn't been all that bad.  Whether that's because I vax'd some months ago or because it wouldn't have hit me too hard anyway, who knows.  I'm just thankful it hasn't got us like many others in our area who have had a terrible time with the Delta variant.

Main thing I'm still dealing with at this point is fatigue.  I don't feel bad anymore, but I can't do much without quickly wearing out.  I pull the trash out to the curb and I need to lay down.

Mrs. DeTiger has lost her taste and smell.  She's a major foodie, and this has been the end of the world for her.  She loves flavors, loves to smell flowers and always has candles going....says she feels less than human.  I can imagine that would be weird to lose two senses.  But her Longhorns won and that brightens her mood some.

I think on their vey best day, Uga will need 28 to beat Bama.  Bryce Young is small, (190 lbs) I am curious to see how he holds up to having 300 lb. Aggies and Tigers and Dawgs hitting him.
