Got blasted by Western Kentucky yesterday. Looks like Chavis has been a fraud/failure there too.

No, the AD was not being fickle, Arkansas has been 90s-Vandy-bad.

Thank God, what a dumpster fire..... Morris and Chavis are worse than Bert and they don't even have the excuse of being drunk....

Needed to be done.  I thought Morris would be okay there, but clearly not.

It's still a good job to have, but it's a tough go in that division, to crawl up from the bottom. The next coach will need, at LEAST, 5 years to get anything going.

Even looking at the recruiting, 2020 looks pretty bad, and it will probably not improve now, as more players de-commit.

Fans need rational expectations.  Ha.

I chatted on line with our favorite Arky fan who told me they had regressed over the season, not due to injuries.  She wanted him gone and likes Bobby.

Huh.

Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Miss State are screwed as long as Saban is at Bama.  Bama and LSU will sumo wrestle for top billing, and Auburn/A&M are the 2nd tier, in terms of program quality.  You can either cheat (like Ole Miss) to matter for a couple of years (no West titles, though) or hang onto a top-tier HC as long as you can before he moves on (Mullen @ MSU), otherwise you have no shot.  None.

Arkansas hasn't (as far as we know) cheated and they haven't gotten an elite HC on his way up, so they've been irrelevant.  It's unfortunate, but true.

It is unlikely of course, but a team can have a "Miracle Year" and get key upsets, but aside from weirdness, you are correct.

I really think Arkansas would do well to look at what they are able to consistently recruit (not knowing their program very well I'd say mostly 3* players with 1-2 4* mixed in every year and occasionally a 5*) and tailor their program to fit that model instead of trying to go H2H with Bama and LSU (and Texas A&M) for the top tier players in the region using the same scheme and same old results.  I'd suggest someone with Leach like qualities in that they run an unusual offense.  Un-Leach like that they would care about defense.

If you look at what Gary Patterson has done at TCU I think he'd be a good fit at Arkansas but I think he runs too traditional of an offense to make headway in the SECW.

Ole Miss upset Alabama 2 years in a row and didn't finish better than 3rd in the West.  Even in the miracle years, there's still 3-4 big-boy programs in your way.
