why should the defense get so much credit for picks?  3 things can happen when you pass the ball, 2 of them are bad.  If the offense would have run the wishbone and had no passes the defense would have nothing
way back in the 60s and 70s Texas used to pass off the wishbone all the time ala Cotton Speyrer

In fact without the treat of a pass the wishbone would have been far lass potent

Texas had some athletic and acrobatic picks vs. WVU.  At least 3 of them most defenses would not have come up with.  One of them was squarely on the QB.

DKR lived in the day when refs let them play.  Now we have 4 things, and 2 of them are good.

If the offense would have run the wishbone and had no passes the defense would have nothing

If WVU had forfeited and never kicked off the Texas defense wouldn't have anything either.
