Nebraska baseball added a big piece to its coaching staff on Sunday per a program source, as the Huskers will bring on former Texas A&M head coach and Husker pitching coach Rob Childress as its director of player development.
Childress did not have his contract renewed at Texas A&M after 16 seasons as the program's head coach. During his time in College Station, Childress went 622-336-1, and helped Texas A&M to a pair of College World Series appearances. Prior to coaching at Texas A&M, Childress served as Nebraska's pitching coach for eight seasons, helping the program to five NCAA Tournament appearances and three trips to the College World Series.
