2023 Red River Haiku

Old rivals fighting
Two titans of the B 12
Horns Victorious

...

Sad sooners depart
Driving their houses northward
Mobilehoma weeps

Hopefully Thumper or C-Dubb will stop by to razz me.

And this thread is definitely not the same since Hooky passed.

But it's tradition and here we are.

Wagon would sooner tip over
Than roll the mighty Horns
Not gonna be pretty.

It is the 3rd time both teams come in 5-0. OU won in 2002, Texas won in 2008.  Bob & Mack were on the sidelines. Now it is Brent & Sark and it is the last RRS that is part of the Big 12.

We hold our Horns up

Victory over sooners

We are burnt orange proud
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Won't be any 'Horns in the stands after the 3rd Q either.

There's some froth!  I sure wish Cousin Fred would come around to give us Horns the business, too!

There is absolutely nothing more painful, as a Longhorn fan, than losing to the Sooners and having to walk around Fair Park for the rest of the day, being mercilessly taunted by the Crimson horde.

But that's also what makes winning feel SO damn good.

Closest I've ever come to something like that was at DKR when I went to the 2019 opener against La. Tech, wearing my LSU gear.

The number of UT fans who howled that I wasn't supposed to be there til next week and strolled off laughing at themselves hardily as if they'd said something terribly clever and original....were legion.

That's not exactly getting harassed, but it differed from them generally ignoring me when I used to go in my LSU gear.

Two blue-bloods on screen
Annual battle for pride
Crowd evenly split

Big 12 boasts matchup
They need to brag while they can
Both teams are leaving

Come to SEC
We have money and viewers
Also, inbreeding
