~2022-23 NBA Season~

Warriors and Suns both at full strength, and playing hard, like it was a WCF game.  The NBA would be so much better, if they were reduced it to like 60 games

Warriors putting San Francisco on the baseline tonight after it was just confirmed today that Oakland lost their third of three teams in 5 years, with the As going to Vegas, seems harsh

The Lakers being in the WCF should end any MJ GOAT debate.  LeBron is doing this with nearly 6 more years of NBA games on his body than MJ retired with with about the level of supporting cast MJ had in 1987.  This is actually more impressive than if MJ had reached the ECF with the Wizards in 2003.

Much of this is silly, but the bold part is very silly.

Nah, he has 6 more years of NBA wear ND tear in his body, and he's dragging a similar roster through a much tougher conference than the post Bulls dynasty Eastern Conference.  The teams that won the ECF to face those Shaq-Kobe teams from 2000-02 were not good at all

LeBron is trying to win a title at an age where MJ was just trying to sell.tickets, with about 500 fewer games of NBA wear on his body

This is where you lose me.

Anthony Davis is likely a Hall of Famer. The Lakers have like 4-5 other players you'd take over the third best guy on that Wizards team. They were some real trash. At age 33, Christian Laettner was third on the team in minutes.

I mean, LeBron is awesome. But we don't need to act like this Lakers cast and that Wizards cast were near each other. (In the larger story, Bron had the misfortune of bad building around him early, and then the ability to play GM for most of his career. He'll compile more, probably not have the narrative or peak team success edge on Jordan. So it'll be a matter of taste. If he beats Denver, then I'll listen)

Oh, and on the last part, not totally accurate. MJ was older than LeBron is now the day he started his comeback.

I get the rings thing and the 6-0 for Jordan and I'm a Jordan guy in this debate...
but
Lebron's overall game has been more like Magic's, in that while he scored enough, he also rebounded and dished the rock.
So he's a guy with Magic's all-around game (generally) AND he's the all-time leading scorer.
.
That's nuts.

Pistons drop a record (for the worst team) 4 spots to the #5 pick.

That marks the 7th time in franchise history the Pistons have dropped.  The Spurs, who moved up to #1, have never dropped, and have moved up a league leading 7 times

Lebron has zero NCAA games on his body. He didn't try to play baseball for two years.

Lebron's number is not retired by the Miami Heat, but MJ's is.

LeBron gets to name his roster wherever he goes.

MJ had Jerry Kraus doing that job.

Lebron has zero NCAA games on his body. Correct, in those 3 years, MJ played in 101 college basketball games, LeBron played in 251 NBA games.  More that twice as many, as a much higher level.

He didn't try to play baseball for two years.  Correct.  Instead of playing minor league baseball, putting minimal wear on his body, he spent his age 30 and 31 seasons playing in 186 meaningful NBA games

Lebron's number is not retired by the Miami Heat, but MJ's is. Which shows how sad that franchise was when they did it.

LeBron gets to name his roster wherever he goes.  MJ had Jerry Kraus doing that job.  And he has built multiple championships.  MJ quit every time the roster was bad, and when he was in the front office, he proved awful at it.

MJ>Lebron

The 1994 and 1995 rosters in Chicago were far from bad. He quit for other reasons. Or was forced to quit by outsiders.

Denver can drive home and still have a week off before the Finals.
