Which makes it all the more interesting to me that those people are so thrilled with our A/C and the Buccees.

Well it's kind of weird to me because although I know a lot of private homes in Europe don't have A/C, every single hotel, manufacturing site, and office building I've ever been to there, has.  And it's not like my company was putting me up in the Ritz Carlton, just very average business hotels.

As for Bucee's, they seem to be most impressed at the scale, the variety, and the sheer commerciality, of the whole thing.  More the spectacle than anything else. Honestly plenty of Americans feel the same way about it.

I'm hoping Morocco can pull this off against France today.

France is the heavy favorite so it's not gonna be easy for the African team.

I know it's unpopular amongst global international soccer fans-- and, well, pretty much everyone else-- but I spent a lot of time in France and really love the place.  So I always root for the French as my #2 team.

Allez les Bleus!!!

It's kind of like the NCAA basketball tournament.  While MSU is still in, I want the toughest competition knocked out.  But once MSU goes down, I generally prefer the better teams advance, for a better product

All countries around the world hate the US pretty much equally.  As a longtime soccer fan, you get used to it.

It's no different than being a Texas Longhorn fan honestly.  Everyone hates us no matter what we do.  No point in worrying about it.

I've got some brie and chevre, a baguette, and a ten-year-old Bordeaux at the ready.

Not based on my personal encounters.

Of course, when you're visiting and spending money, they may just all smile and nod.

I have, however, spent extensive time in Italy and have found that they seem to genuinely love the US.

I'm talking about international soccer fans.  I assumed that's what you were referring to with the "whining" comment.

Why would international soccer fans hate a team that hasn't won anything?

I mean, nobody hates Vanderbilt.
