that's OK, cause the Hawks don't care much for the Badgers either

Not me. IMO, this is the measuring stick for the Badgers' season. "We" should always beat Minnesota--that game frustrates me. Iowa is almost always a good test--and appropriately so. Would I love to see the Badgers playing for national titles and top 5 rankings like OSU and Michigan? Sure. But Iowa/Wisconsin is just such a classic Badger game. I love it. (And I'll be frustrated if Locke starts sparying INTs all over the place.)

Far too often, I have watched Iowa turn the Wisconsin offense into the equivalent of watching old people screw. And then the badger defense busts along some seam and I will wins with a dumb jagged number like 11 or 18. Bleh.

If it helps your peace of mind, Iowa's pass defense this year is not that great.

No peace of mind until the final whistle, or I guess until Wisconsin has some kind of comfortable lead late.

Rain is predicted.  Starting at 6pm and continuing throughout the evening.
We got enough rain for me to put on my poncho, but there much rain during the game. It took 30 minutes to get to my car after the game. About 20-minutes after getting into my car, it down-poured.
One of my classmates from FSU law school came up to the game from Pensacola. We had a nice tailgate with about a dozen or more people and some fans from Badger Land. My classmate has distant relatives in Iowa. He grew up in Ohio. For 40 years he told me he would go to a game with me in Iowa City, but didn't. He had season tickets at FSU when we were in law school, so he has been to D-1 football games.
After the game last night, he said, this (Kinnick Stadium) is the loudest stadium he had been in since his mom (an Iowa grad) took him to an Iowa game when he was a kid in the early 1960s in Columbus, Ohio. (Ouch, that didn't go well).
During this trip, he has been in constant contact with his wife, but hadn't told her yet what he told me this morning at our B & B.  "My wife is going to kill me when I get home, and I tell her, I am coming back for a game next year."
We had a great time.

So glad it worked out great for you.  They made the rain look a lot worse on TV,  I guess.

A nice thing about CFB is how your team could finish say 8-5 and if you beat your main rivals it would be considered a pretty good season.

If you finish 9-4 buy lose to your main rivals, ....

Maybe that's why Iowa plays 4 trophy games every year (and usually finishes 8-5 or 9-4).
