Yeah back in the 70s and 80s it was pretty common for Texas college football teams not to begin their season until mid-September.  And at UT at least, pretty much all September games were night games.

My freshman year, 1990, Texas played a road game @Penn State on September 8th, but our first home game wasn't until September 22nd.

Yeah, Michigan seems to have a pretty robust collection.  But OSU much less so
