First hint of gettiing old (I was about 35 or so) - me and the chick I was hooking up with joined some kids in a pickup football game.  The first time I get the ball, I make a sweet juke and headed in for a TD and immediately pull a hamstring.

I never stretched before pickup football with my friends growing up, into my 20s even, but 35+ requires it.  More than being embarrassed, I just felt it was so DUMB.

Cheer up, by the time you're 45 you'll need to stretch just to get out of bed...

I've mentioned before how I chuckle seeing these 35-45 year olds at fantasy camp blowing a muscle on Day One, it's often the hammie or quad or calf.

Predictable.  I can't run fast enough for that to be an issue.

Yeah, that's the problem - they were just 10-12 year olds, but I caught all 3 of them with a juke and my first stride upfield yanked the hammy bad.

It's like when I work out once every 5 years.....I throw what I used to do up on the bar and can barely do it (normal workout, not max)......but then I can't get out of a chair the next day.

Pulling on a golf club that was stuck in the bag until it finally worked loose and gave me a black eye.

I've been in Park City past several days, and was forced into a mogul run due to non marked run closure...yeah, 45 not 25 yoa.  B/t the knees and lower back pain, will be a full day off of skis and a lifetime ban on any mogul runs.

Oh man, in Ohio the rough is like 98% poison ivy. I'd only get it once in the spring though, then I'd be good the rest of the year.

I partiality tore my ACL in a charity dodgeball game, and then finished it off in a parents vs kids soccer game.

Oh, I also had a high-ankle sprain playing soccer with kids.  Went to simply stop the ball with the bottom of my foot, but was on a decline and running....foot just gave out from under me.
I was grabbing handfuls of grass trying not to cuss up a storm.  God, that hurt!  And the fun part was having to limp 75-80 yards to the building on my own.
I can still feel the bump on my leg.

When the kids were younger, we had one of those trampolines in the back yard for the kids. We were out there one evening watching the kids bounce on the thing when my son challenged me to do a flip on the trampoline. I was in my early 40's and still thought I was invincible, so I gave it a shot. I only made it a little past half way when I landed on the back of my neck. I couldn't move my neck for about a week.
