Might be a simmer something on the stovetop kinda day. Apple cider syrup and maybe some chunk of meat. Kroger had chuck roast on sale the other day, maybe they still have some.

traveling from Bar Harbor, ME to Salem, MA today - not much football

will stop to eat some oysters and lobster somewhere along the way - maybe A1 Diner in Gardiner, or Becky's Diner in Portland, or Maine Diner in Wells, or Bob's Clam Hut in Kittery

probably get into the Holiday Inn in Salem late, but hopefully not late for the Husker kickoff at midnight - "witching time of night"

Another game.  Another absolute screw job by the refs against Purdue.
Have to agree with you.  And a a critical moment in the game.   Very frustrating to see refs change a big outcome with a CLEARLY incorrect call.

Just as I garner confidence in Purdue, of course they had to lose.

This seems to happen fairly often, a team comes out of the gate like UCLA looking really solid and then they get upset by a nobody, or lose to a somebody they should beat if they're decent.  One trait of mediocre teams I find is inconsistency, they can look good and then bad the next week.

I'm encouraged by Nebraska, a team I lean to liking, they seem pretty solid.  Maybe they will disappoint.  Maybe not.

I'll be disappointed if the Huskers don't win tonight at Oregon vs a 2nd string QB

but, I won't be surprised either way

Raiola might just be the most overrated QB recruit in history.

There's also that guy in Ann Arbor.

I dunno according to the game recap Huskies dominated except for the turnovers they lost and it was a 12 pt game. So even a screw job doesn't account for 12 pts unless they were obvious and plenty.

“Their defensive line won on the line of scrimmage," Purdue coach Barry Odom said. “They had everyone in the box and we were not able to counter, unfortunately. I think our offense will probably go as we're able to run the ball. We couldn’t find enough room to get that going to help the passing game enough. I thought Ryan made some big-time throws. We didn't win at the point of scrimmage."

He is not wrong. I am not wanting to blame any game on one specific call.

But if you watch the game, Washington was going in to the end zone just before half and Purdue had stolen the momentum at that point in the Game.
Purdue stuffed the Drive, forced a bad thrown by the QB by sacking him and had all that momentum going to halftime.  but the ref called roughing the passer, which gave basically new life and momentum to Washington just before half
I would’ve liked to see how the game played out. Had he not made that horrible call
we all know how important having the momentum is when you go in at halftime plus virtually a tide game at that point

I do like Beckys Diner in Portland.
Very much a great local haunt.
