This reminds me of all the private jets lined up at Davos to talk about Global warming.

Idiots.

I was musing about an old poster here, frbobs, or "THE bobs" as we called him.  I don't know if he had a team, I think he did, some forlorn team like Purdue maybe.  He said "obs" meant "observer", and I now greatly sympathize.  Rather than ponder and fret over what CFB is becoming, I merely "observe".  I can't influence it, I can speculate what may happen maybe, but it's off on its own.

Several have noted an expectation than in years to come, the head injury thing is going to rear it's ugly, well, head.  Helmets may become bulbous, perhaps with sensors that track accelerations, and above some limit said player is benched.

from an LSU site:

In other football news, coach Lane Kiffin said on Pardon My Take that college players getting paid makes it easier for the staff to make sure they’re doing what they’re supposed to. If they don’t, he said, they are fined. “You bring them in, ‘Hey, this is what you need to do.’ And if you don’t, there’s a fine system for those things, but also, what’s going to happen at the end of the year? You’re going to get cut.”

So......full NFL-ahead, then.  Awesome.

Personally, I kinda liked it when a player not doing what he was supposed to resulted in him running stadium stair sprints until he threw up.

Hell, even the NFL doesn't have full unrestricted free agency every single year available to every single player.

For fans like us, that's certainly one of the worst parts about the whole thing.

I do understand it can be good for the players since every year is a contract year and they can always level up without being locked into a multi-year contract where they are undervalued.  Of course the opposite is true as well...
