I'm not a Yankee.

I'm not retired.

Anything else?

My intent would be to retire as a full-time resident here, and be a tourist elsewhere around the world.

In Florida, Yankees mostly live over there. ------>

For some coon-asses I know, Yankee almost means anybody north of I-10.

For me, it means people who don't refer to a group of people as "y'all."  If a person says "you guys," you're a yankee.  If a person says "youse guys" without any irony, that person a sub-human variant of Yankee.

There's even a tragically hilarous group of people who say "yunz guys" or "yinz guys."  Growing up I had a neighbor around the block who said that, his family was from Pittsburgh.

I don't actually remember what people in Austin commonly said.  But as I recall, I never got odd looks or got made fun of for saying "y'all."

I fully endorse this definition. "Y'all" is for Southerners, exclusively. Living above the Mason-Dixon and saying "y'all" = 100% hick.

Those odd looks were from the big thing on your ear that sticks out.

There are people in the Appalachian region who say "you'uns," apparently.  Though I don't recall ever hearing that in person.
