I was idly thinking of taking it up again.  I probably should hit the range and see where I'm at.

That's for sure, although I noticed I'm so slow now playing baseball I don't really get that sore, except the arm.

The arm is not terribly sore but does get pretty weakened.

This was my first chance to drive the Hyundai in the mountains, and I think it did well.  While hardly a sports car of course, it managed smoothly.  I hit a few turns faster than I thought prudent and it handled them without screeching tires.  Somehat unexpectedly, it hit 39 mpg in mostly mountain driving.  It usually is around 32-33 on freeways at 75-80.  My wife wanted me to try for 40.

Anyway, fortunately, it is an upgrade from the GTI for us olden folks.

Miss Vivian Bales, a fearless adventurer from Albany, GA, who rode her beloved 1929 Harley-Davidson Model D across thousands of miles in North America during the Prohibition Era.

In the late 1920s, Vivian embarked on a cross-country motorcycling trip that would make her one of the first great women riders, and Harley-Davidson remembers the goodwill she spread while touring the country on her 45 cubic inch twin D model.

Currently on a layover at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport - very nice. From here work is sending me into the Third World. To a region where the Travelex agents just told me they don’t carry these particular nations’ cash because their governments are too unstable to dependably rate their currency.

Our working group is supposed to have armed Marines assigned from the Embassy escorting us, but that might only be for when we’re transiting between the cities. Otherwise, not allowed anywhere alone.

This trip has been in the works for awhile but I’m briefed to not to say much more than to give short notice to family/friends that I will be unreachable for a few weeks. Although there are apparently “internet credits” that can be bought for limited online access.

Will let Folgers leave one last, vague hint:

I'm surprised at Istanbul being #3 on that list above.

Why did Constantinople get the works?

It's a big connection airport for a number of airlines.
