Maliq Carr, who chose Purdue over Georgia, after those were the only schools that were going to allow him to play football and basketball is now transferring to MSU, who a year ago wasn't going to allow him to do that, but now is?

Huh. Weird.

Granted he didn't seem to be a participant that I recall in any Purdue basketball activities that I saw...

He also only appeared in 3 games, and had 1 rec for 15 yards on the season. Maybe he thought he wasn't getting enough work at WR either?

Maybe Brohm told him he's have better luck if he moved to TE? IIRC he was being projected as a TE tweener and wanted to play WR instead. Purdue brought him in as a WR when other schools were planning to make him switch. Maybe Brohm told him he has no future at WR at Purdue and wanted him to play TE, and he didn't like that?

Or maybe he just wanted to be closer to home...

Will be interested to see if we ever hear the back story on this one.

Or why Izzo changed his mind?  Maybe he's seeing the year to year nature of college basketball going forward, and rather than having to commit to a kid for 4 years, he just has to build the best possible roster for next year, which is short on good rebounding wings?

Because by all accounts MSU also sees him as a tight end, and always has.

His dad is a Michigan native, who has coached at 4 of the 5 in state mid majors, and is currently an assistant at Missouri, but had been mentioned has a replacement on the basketball staff for Fife.  So maybe the chance to be with his dad? But I'm pretty sure Missouri recruited him too, so he could have already had that if he wanted it

And seems now like he may have "committed" to MSU without an offer, and is now just out there.

Seems like he's following the Nojel Eastern plan to transfer out of Purdue?

I thought football's portal was bad, basketball's is a joke.  It's insane.  Florida's starting 5 next year could all be new transfers.

Michigan OL - Willie Allen - who literally just transferred in and was slated to start in 2021 - enters the portal and is leaving Michigan. LOL. F##k Harbaugh.

Rutgers transfer quarterback Artur Sitkowski is headed to Illinois.

He announced that news on his Twitter account Monday evening.

Sitkowski was at Rutgers for three seasons before opting for the transfer portal. Over that three year career with the Scarlet Knights, he completed 54.4 percent of his passes for 2,031 yards.

New coach Bret Bielema is installing a new scheme this offseason, but Brandon Peters and Isaiah Williams certainly have a head start in learning the offense.

Peters led all Illini quarterbacks in pass attempts during the spring game last week. He completed 12-of-18 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown. Williams completed 5-of-14 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Illinois hosts Rutgers on Oct. 30.
