The Irish didn't play the toughest of schedules this year, but it does seem like they belonged in the playoff.

The SEC is kinda mid this year. But so is everyone else.

The Irish didn't play the toughest of schedules this year, but it does seem like they belonged in the playoff.

Eh. They beat the Hoosiers who weren't really all that good, and we all knew it. You know flat out that from a talent perspective, ND just out-talents IU pretty much across the entire roster. That didn't prove they belonged.

They beat Georgia with their backup QB despite being outgained on offense. They benefited from a short field turnover leading to a TD and a special teams TD (kickoff return). Other than those, the best they could manage is 3 FGs, all >40 yards. Tough to argue a counterfactual, but do we really think it would have looked like this if Carson Beck was healthy?

One might say that the draw of a paper tiger IU team followed by a Georgia team down their starting QB was...

...the Luck o' the Irish!

Perhaps.  But the one SEC team left is as capable of winning it all as anyone.

Maybe they could show that walk on a few more times, bring up the fact that its definitely his fault, and then say they feel bad for him

The Hoosiers played ND closer than Georgia did, and scored more than Georgia did.  And Indiana did it in South Bend.  So, there is that…
