I'm not saying I don't know what happened.  I'm saying I don't know what the Big Ten is claiming.  I've seen that they are trying to gaslight everyone, but I don't know what it is that they're offering as an "explanation."

At the end of the day, every single Hail Mary pass is a very low percentage play. I’d venture to guess that maybe a 1% success rate would be generous. 

I watched it live, and I don’t recall seeing many replays, but the WM players were behind the Michigan players, it landed right on the goal line. It was always a low percentage play, and I felt it was poorly defended. I almost sorta believe that the first Hail Mary going too deep setup the 2nd Hail Mary perfectly due to the fact that a lot of the WMU guys were behind the receiver. 

Also, how many times do we see a Hail Mary where they just rush the QB on the final play and sack him before he can get a throw off, or put him under enough duress where the pass doesn’t even get close to the end zone. It usually takes a good 3-5 seconds for the WR to even get downfield in the first place, so odds are even that you can sack him behind the LOS anyways.

"Following video review, it was determined Western Michigan’s #18 started his jump from an established out-of-bounds position (left foot) and made contact with the ball with one second remaining on the clock. As shown in the provided video of what was viewed during the replay process, a side-by-side view of the play and the game clock, using a direct shot of the game clock in the stadium, was used to determine the final ruling.

There's a super-secret clock that only officials are allowed to see.

That is shockingly transparent for a supposedly genuine gaslighting attempt.  

I can say that in several crazy endings with the Mad Hatter and his infamous clock-management (sometimes undeservedly criticized), a super-secret clock that only officials can see never came up.

Also, it makes no sense for there to be an officials-only clock.  Every team--particularly the coach and the QBs--have to manage their decisions and plays by a clock.  It would be monumentally unfair and absurd for that clock not to be the official clock.  There's no way to do your job correctly if all you have is a fake, doesn't-actually-matter clock to look at.  

This isn't even a good lie.

Nobody seriously is claiming there is any hidden clock.

Football doesn't have fractions of a second, just seconds. So even if the clocks got out of sync over the course of the game, they would have been put back in sync the play before, when the refs asked for 9 seconds on the clock instead of 8. 

Then they somehow fell back out of sync while counting down from 9 to 0? Come on.

Yeah, but they are kinda implying a super secret clock with this explanation, because the game clock reached 0:00.

It's the best they could come up with in 2 hours.

It's especially fucked up after their explaining that all clocks are synchronized before the game.  Their BS lie 2 hours after the game clashes with that statement from before. 

Whoever was tasked with this isn't very good at it.

I don't read a whole lot into this either way.  One second is such a short time no doubt the clock operator stops it too late throughout much of the game, a second here and there that rarely matters.  Maybe he pulls the trigger too soon at times.  I don't know who operates the clock in CFB, maybe a "referee" up in the booth.
