My next door neighbor growing up was a bit of a car guy, in addition to the 280ZX, he also had one of these.  Sporty.

Yeah that one was a 450SL.  I don't know the exact year, probably 79 or 80.

His son was one of my friends, he was two years older and we hung out for a few months per year because his mom lived in Dallas.

His dad let me drive it a couple of times.  It was fun.  Until fairly recently, the fastest I've ever driven, was in that car.

I always wanted one of those.

I prefer the older looks to current model

safety car???
Yeah, it's the Formula 1 version of a pace car.  F1 is currently using two different makes, and alternating each race.  This is the other one:

I feel that "Pace Car" is more appropriate

Back in 1988, the "big brother" car to my Chrysler Laser/Dodge Daytona, was the Mistubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest Tsi.  Man I really wanted one of those.

Just saw this on FB marketplace, 1981 380 SL, $2500.  Not as sporty as lots of recent posts, but I do miss the wind and sky since I sold the 93 Honda Del Sol that I flew to Houston to buy from Seth.  I need space, so maybe after I totally lose my mind and build a barndo on some acreage, I can add to my toy collection.

Man that seems like a steal, if it runs.  And I think a 380SL with the top down is QUITE sporty.

I've had a convertible in one form or another since 1993.  Currently we have my i s c & a aggie wife's Jeep which is pretty easy to throw the soft top down completely even though it's manual, and my daughter's Mustang convertible which is even easier since it's fully automatic.  Both are pretty sporty.

You need to snap that up at that price. As long as it starts and stops it's worth $10K.
