C5 - 2003 - 50th anniversary & year of my divorce
5.7 L LS1 engine produced 350 hp

Pop up headlights

You know, at the time, I thought I didn't much care for these, but maybe I never saw one from an elevated perspective.  Or maybe my tastes changed.  I actually quite like the look of this.

OK.... maybe 7...

Ponycar #1-- 1965 Mustang convertible.

Not a fan of the Mustang look in general, but I have always liked these when I've seen them.  I would've guessed these were more recent than 1965, so that's interesting.  I thought maybe mid-to-late 70's.

No indeed, the 1965 model I posted was the very first model year for the Mustang, that's the original ponycar.  It came in 3 versions: the convertible, the coupe, and the most famous and probably most collected, the fastback. Mid 70s Mustangs were hideous, and by the late 70s Ford had moved on to the very different-looking "Fox body" Mustang, pictured above as the 1986 unit.

Any Z car fans around here?  My next door neighbor growing up, had one of these, and I always coveted it:

That's a 1980 Datsun 280ZX 10th Anniversary Edition.

1968-1972 with chrome bumpers - one of the few vehicles I like with chrome side pipes.

BUILT IN THE USA: Since 2022, some of the Tremec 8-Speed DCT transmissions for the C8 Corvette have been assembled in Canada, but now all are being built by Tremec in the USA.

A girl in my HS Class of 81 got one in 1980.  (not the anniversary edition)
She would always have me drive because it was a 5-speed.
It was a fun car to drive (Sporty!!)

My BIL had one of those in high school, that my i s c & a aggie wife occasionally drove.

My best friend had one of these, Nissan 300ZX Turbo:

We raced.  It was faster than my Chrysler Laser Turbo.

DRIFT MODE + ACTIVE AERO=FUN: General Motors has published a new patent that combines drift mode with active aerodynamics, allowing the car to automatically adjust its wings and splitters while sliding.
