they are pretty cool but just way too much money imo. $115-135k sticker for a Chevy is fucking nuts- and before they actually started bringing more to market those were going for like $50k over sticker. if you're going to spend that kind of money spend it on a Porsche- or spend a little more and get the 911 Turbo S.

The Z06, to me, is a track car.  The performance is well beyond what one can explore on a street even extra legally with some modest discretion.  Personally I'd rather have a top of the line base Corvette LT3 convertible for maybe $90 K or so.  Still faster than I could really use, but a nice sound to it.  And Pushrods.

How much might some of these gas cars today be worth in 25 years?

A lady in our building is now parking one of these in the basement parking garage nearish us.  The thing is massive.  She has three parking spots apparently so her Panamera still fits.  She's a used car dealer I think judging from her tags, and her rides.

well, the Turbo S is double the price for comparable performance
I agree that $120K for a chevy is nutz, but $240K for any car is nutz

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 vs 2022 Porsche 911 GT3: Battle Of The Track Monsters

I don't view any Corvette as being "just a Chevrolet", though the cache aspect is real for many of course.  I doubt most Porsche serious shoppers consider a Corvette, they might nod at its specs but disdain it otherwise.  Two cars might be "equal" on a race track but the preference would be for the more expensive one in many cases.

With the scales, tape measures, and calculators put away, it's time to see how the Corvette Z06 and the 911 GT3 match up on the test track. We put both cars through a battery of tests—and the results may surprise you. You would think in tests that favor brute force, the Z06 would come out on top. However, the Z06 is slower than GT3 to 60 mph by 0.1 seconds. Both cars are officially Toretto-approved with a 10.8 second quarter mile time. However, the Z06 carries slightly more speed across the line.

Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 GT3 stays nearly neck-and-neck with the Z06 in all tests, which is a testament to its suspension tuning and lighter weight. The GT3 is just 0.4 second slower than the Z06 through our famous figure-eight test. The Porsche also comes to a stop from 60 mph a full 2 feet sooner. The GT3 can't blow the Z06 out of the water in any of these categories, but the fact that the Z06 can't do it either may reflect more positively on the Porsche.

I may prefer the Porsche if the price were the same or if the choice was a gift
probably not, the local Chevy dealer can maintain the Vette with MUCH less expense
There is no local Porsche dealer, I'd have to go 90 miles to find one.

That car is a beast. 850 HP, out of a 4.0L V8.

This is an AMG C63. It makes 670 HP out of a 2.0L inline 4. No idea how that happens.

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance features a handcrafted AMG 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine paired with an electric exhaust-gas turbocharger and a rear 150kW permanently synchronous electric motor. This plug-in hybrid system produces a combined 671 horsepower and 752 lb-ft of torque. 


This will be a coming tactic for high horsepower vehicles, including the Corvette E-Ray and a Porsche.
