1921 Oldsmobile Model 46 Clampett Family Truck
The truck that was famously associated with The Beverly Hillbillies is the iconic 1921 Oldsmobile Model 46, also known as the ""Clampett family truck."" This vehicle is featured prominently in the opening credits of the show as the Clampett family heads to Beverly Hills after striking oil on their property. The truck is instantly recognizable due to its role in the show, with Jed Clampett (played by Buddy Ebsen) with his family and their belongings on their way to Beverly Hills. It was a key symbol of the Clampetts' humble beginnings, with the truck contrasting sharply with the high society world of Beverly Hills that they would soon become part of.
The George Barris built truck was a key element in the show’s humor, as it symbolized the Clampetts' lack of sophistication and their transition from rural poverty to newfound wealth. The 1921 Oldsmobile was a vintage model, and while it wasn't an actual functional vehicle during production, it became one of the most memorable props in television history.

For decades, the Corvette has competed with Porsche, with the German brand normally taking the nod as the champion and the Chevy not earning much respect from snobby enthusiasts.

But that attitude has definitely changed with the new mid-engine C8, with U.S. News & World Report recently judging the 2025 Corvette Stingray against the 2025 Porsche 911 and declaring the Chevy to be the overall winner!

I've always thought it strange when people identify so closely with a car manufacturing brand.  Calvin pissing on Chevy, Porsche snobs not liking Corvettes, or whatever.

I like Porsches AND Corvettes.  I've owned Ford, Chevy, and MOPAR and they're pretty much all the same.  There might be some aesthetics I prefer from one manufacturer over another, but when the next model year comes out, it could be completely different.

Speaking of Calvin pissing on Chevy, my 15-yo son now seems to be past his desire for a F&F style rice-burner, and he's moved back to American muscle.  This is the car he seems to be most fixated upon now:
