From what I've read, pads usually last 40-50K, with variation for obvious reasons.  Rotors I thought lasted 2-3x that unless you score them.  Hybrids should last double that, at least.

At a dealer, it can easily be a grand.

I'm in a rural area but I have over 100,000 on my Chevy 1500 pickup.
My Impala does mostly hwy driving.  I'd guess I'll get over 200,000 on the pads

I don't drive with my left foot on the brake like some women

That Impala would be hard on the front pads even with highway driving.  I can see 70,000 miles, maybe 80.  Maybe you're already past that.

I change out all my own disc brakes.  I hated doing drums, but it's been a decade or more since I had a vehicle with drum brakes.

I do a lot of coasting to stop signs
saves gas

I'm getting 28.7 MPG the last 65,000 miles

Yeah, I try to coast to red lights.  Often the light may turn green before I get there.  My wife is too impatient to do that, and sometimes asks me why I'm slowing down.

She hits the brakes pretty hard at times.

Yeah, we had an outside sales rep that we worked with who lived in NC and was constantly driving to sales calls. Almost all highway. He said he took his car in at 70K and the dealer told him it looked like the brakes pads were new :57:

Just keeping this thread alive ... I was pondering today our new car, the Hyundai Tuscon, after a few months of ownership.

The appeal of the CUV concept is pretty obvious, for a lot of folks, visibility is better than you get in a sedan, I think one feels safer by sitting up high, even if technically you probably aren't safer.  Braking and acceleration are fine, I don't drive hard much any more, it doesn't sound strained at 80 mph on the freeway, it merges into traffic well enough, a few times I've punched it a little an it goes when urged.  The regen braking is seemless, as is when it operates in all electric mode (which isn't much) and shifts to the engine starting up.

I tossed it a little when we were in the mountains and it handled curves well, it doesn't tip or squeal (short of really getting into it).

Relative to back seat room, it is quite a bit better than the GTI, and the space behind the seat is pretty ample for a smaller vehicle.  Gas mileage has been good but it's below the 38/37 mpg they have on the sticker.

One thing that surprised me is hoq quiet it is on the freeway and around town.  Overall, it's fine for an old geezer like me.

I still watch reviews at times of Corvettes and Porsches and Cadillacs and think "Wow, that would be neat to have.", but no.

2025 Ford Mustang Review, Pricing, and Specs (caranddriver.com)

This is probably the sporty car I'd buy, the rag top, with everything considered.
