I'm already too old.  My notion is to rent one for a day or three sometimes.  My wife seems amenable to that.  She just doesn't want one all the time.  Sixt has some fairly reasonable rental options for similar cars.

The Slingshot is technically considered a motorcycle.

4+1

I used to sit on the center console of my father's 1964 Ford Galaxy 500 XL

Bench seats in the front are a thing of the past, maybe some new car or truck has them???  Bucket seats used to be "sporty".  I was very proud my Nova had "bucket seats", and a floor mounted shifter.  With 3 speeds.  It also had a bone crushing F41 suspension.  It was a Camaro with more interior and trunk space.

It seemed "fast", to me, at the time.

My first wife was given a graduation present, a 1980 Chevette, with an automatic transmission.  It got poor gas mileage and was awfully slow.  Remember 55 mph speed limits?

Ugh.
