Go to Frontera Grill for authentic Mexican - or Topolobampo* if you can get in. Go to Twin Anchors for ribs. Go to Hugo's for drinks and snacks. Go get a Beef (dipped, hot peppers) at Al's. Get a burger at Au Cheval. Hit up The Girl and the Goat. Chicago Chophouse.

So many great places to choose from.

I’ve got more than enough Mexican at home, but meats? I’m here for those.

I took the little woman tonight (with my daughter and son-in-law) to Chan Garden, a Chinese restaurant in Dyersville. We wanted to get out front of the Mother's Day rush. Food was beyond great!

At times I have been shut out by the Mother's Day crowd and went to Burger King -- not so great for Mother's Day. I am a bit late on Mother's Day advice for the masses here, but c'est la vie, if you have not yet figured things out.

Show your mom, or mom-figure, a good time, today.

I established early on that I refuse to eat out on Mother's Day.

Yeah, I tend to avoid the dates/times the masses are all doing something.  Makes everyone seem like little lemmings, acting only when the calendar tells them to.

Take mom out the day before.  Or 2 days after.  It's no less special, but it's a TON less frustrating/aggravating.  Why drag things down on a special day?  Any day can be special if you make it so.
