I got our tax refund from the state today, $500.  I would have preferred  that higher income folks not get it, but whatever.

I guess I'll do something with it I wouldn't have done otherwise?

Good idea.  I have a fund set up for that already.  There is a group that looks really good for rehabilitating homeless.

Georgia Works | Georgia Works transforms chronically homeless men into self-sufficient and productive members of society.

I like the idea of an easy option to send funds for this site.

We walked over to my favorite Italian place for lunch, and sat outside, watching the passerby and cars and .., the tiny robot delivery vehicles.  They are quite funny, rather easily confused, and will turn around for no obvious reason and retrace, then turn around an go back.  They are pretty good at crossing the street, they seem able to read the crossing signals, and of course cars.  Some of the pedestrians were taking photos, like my wife.  Lunch was good as usual, and we chatted with the owner, a nice lady from Seoul originally.  The chefs are "Mexicans" and do a pretty good Italian meal.  They weren't very busy with concerns me a bit.

Then I walked to the Midtown Alliance office because I "won" a T shirt, and got a quick look at their offices.  Meanwhile, I'm trying to apply for a "homestead exemption", but that process does not belong here, at all.

One thing that bothers me, brought on by the donating posts before a happiness:
idk how often it is, maybe for a month each year, maybe not, the self-check out at Walmart asks for a donation when you pay.  It irks me greatly that they don't just do this by zip code - why are a bunch of barely-hanging on people in a poor area being asked to donate money they don't have?!?!!  Draw some median income level line and only push it out through those store locations, please.  And shit, if it's all connected, draw another line and those donations go towards discounting the cost totals at store locations below that line!

Anywho, socialism, evil, blah blah, I know.

Today is my dad's 70th birthday.  I didn't think he'd live this long.  He hasn't taken care of himself very well, but he's still puttering around and working in his career field.  It's great.
