They're probably the same. UW has always been high in that field. I used to go check out the reactor they had in the Mechanical Engineering Building.

Texas A&M ranked #8.  He could be an Aggie!
Marcus beat me to it. I vaguely recall A&M had a really good program. Small compared to other Depts. 
Word was that most students were ex Nuke Sub navy looking to get a degree. Not sure if true.

If one is headed to grad school, I don't think the undergrad choice matters much, though being stressed as a student to keep up would be good, usually.

Grad school in an engineering field usually is not "worth it" from what I could see.

I had a coworker who had a PhD in ChemEng from Columbia, smart guy, but very unmotivated.  He was my "idle" sic.
