Partly happy, partly bittersweet.

I joined a start-up company in 2007. That company was acquired by my current employer in 2009, and ever since, one of our IT guys from the original company has emailed out a "survivors list" of who remained with us from the 100 or so that started as part of the acquisition. He sent out that list today, and there are 13 names. BUT, the company spun off / split out a division back in February, and of those 13 names, 6 went with the new entity. So now they're truly not "remaining" with our side, anyway. So it's actually only 7.

I don't know if it's crazier to think about all the names that are no longer on the list... or that my name is still on it?

But I guess I'm happy that I've had the opportunity to be here for now 17 1/2 years, and that what for 29-year-old me was still a "job" when I started in 2007 has now truly developed into my "career".

Going on 2 and a half years of no longer smoking (started at 19, quit at 67) and after gaining tons of weight post stoppage, I finally lost 5 lbs!  Will be going back to my arthritis swim class next Monday and with all the physical work I am doing helping my sister post knee replacement, my fingers are crossed I will see more weight come off.  Might not seem much to some people, but considering I didn't hit 100 lbs until my sophomore year in high school (5'6" and skinny - those were the days) getting down to 240 lbs now is so nice and brings a smile to my face
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I am not sure you realize what you heard is not what I meant.  Anonymous

Spring morning coffee on the deck is some of my favorite coffee.
Well I don't have a deck but a finished 3 season room off the back. But I do have a decent city park behind me with 2 beisbol diamonds. Between my 1100 sq ft palatial estate and those sits a small stand of trees with a path thru that. Then between us and that is a 15 ft ravine with a creek meandering thru that and trees and natural growth aplenty. Think I mentioned before with a wide assortment of Birds I can recognize but can't Identify. With all sorts of choirs converging every morning so a nice relaxing start with a kick start of a 5 bean mix of Black Coffee

I save some serious coin by avoiding long flights and cruises
Walking into my garage to see the red car made me happy this morning
A couple of Red Cardinals right now eating seed I spread around makes me happy

I'm from Iowa - dirt farmers don't behave that way.
You're thinkin of the folks in Austin
Didn't know Dirt Farmers had little red corvette's parked in their garages. What kind of equipment used to help prepare fields for planting can you drag behind that, besides screaming Hawkeye/Sooner fans? Bet that makes you happy

yup, business expense.  Use it to check cattle and crops.  I like to be happier than the tax man.

Serious question…how the heck do you get in and out?  The few times I’ve been in one I had major issues getting my 6-2 self upright.

it's not easy to get out.  I'm 5'10" that's not the problem
I'm 62 years old - that's an issue.
I push real hard with my right arm on the steering wheel.  Gotta squat with the single left leg.
It's not cool to use your left hand to grab the roof or door (leaves finger prints)

Getting in???  Easy peasy, just fall in.

Never heard of it.  Is that somewhere up by Maine or something?  Sounds yankee.

I'm happy to have a tee time this afternoon - weather is very good and the course is hosting a tournament, so it will be in great shape.

I'm happy to be headed out to the lake today.  Only our second time out this spring, it's been busy, but the summer will be better.
