The gardens at a place called Vaux-le-Vicomte near Melum, France, probably my favorite chateau in France.  Geesh, I had this little digitcal camera back then.  Good times.  Time keeps on tickin' tickin' tickin'

This was the core of our "wine group" at the local wine bar in Glendale, OH.  We showed up every Friday and spent way too much money.  I proposed to my wife in that room in the back on April Fool's Day a few years back.

Where the hell is the wood bar, pinball machine, dart boards, juke box, beer signs and TV's with the games on? That place gives me the creeps

My youngest daughter is a HS freshman. Most of our conversations go like this...

Me: saying literally anything
Her: one of "OKAY-AH!" "OH MY GOD-AH!" or "STOP!"
Me: You don't have to yell.
Her: I'M NOT!!!
The end.

Thursday, she set PRs in long jump and 100 hurdles.

Last night, she spent two hours on the couch with me, nerding out on Bound to see where she ranks in the conference, where she ranks in the state as a freshman, what she would need to do to make it to State in various events, etc etc.

She wouldn't shut up, and it was glorious.

It's a "wine bar", a classy place, doesn't need that stuff at all.  We liked it a lot.  Obviously.

A
funny historical note, it's in the old building where the second Kroger once was, a long time back.

Obviously, there are bars for beer drinkers out there aplenty.  Wine bars are much more rare, as I think wine drinkers are fewer in number, though they often spend a lot more on less volume.

We have a pretty neat "beer bar" not far from here where my stepson went a while back and noted Charles Barkley sitting in the back by his lonesome.  The bar tender said he comes there when in town and prefers to be left to himself.

We 've had lunch there a few times, the food is better than a typical sports bar.  There was a large water main break just outside a few months ago that caused quite a bit of damage to the place, they were closed for a couple months.

I'd have to swing by just to see if Sir Charles was holding court

I mowed for the fourth time Tuesday.

Played 18 on Thursday; four 3-putts and made one outside four feet all day. A candidate for a "What Made You Sad Today?" thread.

We've already got one of those.

As usual on Saturdays we strolled through the local pop up market.  The crowds are down today because of weather, but it's fun.  I noticed a new flower shop in an ancient filling station that turned into a bike shop then some solar energy company and has been vacant for a long time, with various an sundry plans announced that fell through.  We stopped by and chatted with the couple there, it was very pleasant, bought a vase.  She does arrangements mostly on order, the one she was doing for some graduation she said was $200, so not cheap.  Duh.

I really admire the folks who start up their own businesses like this, the small ones, the market has several who grow vegetables to sell.
