I liked mowing our yard except when it rained all week and I couldn't and then had to try and mow it still wet and very tall. My Snapper ride on gave out and I bought a pretty nice mower from HD "used" for $200, I thought that was a deal, and it was. The mower had grass stains on it, a bit, someone used it once and returned it, it was in great shape. I had to walk behind it but that was fine, and it mowed better than the Snapper. By then I was at my wife's house which had a smaller grass yard.
I didn't like bagging, I would have to stop every so often to dump the clippings, but it made the yard look really nice. For relatively little effort I could sit on the deck and admire my handiwork and the wife would bring me a cold drink.
Her yard slopped down the back to a green belt, it was really nice, but I decided to terrace some of it that was a bit wild. I ended up digging up huge flat rocks of limestone to build the terrace, some so large and heavy I could only move them a bit with a pick. That area was all about limestone. I was pretty proud of my walls though.
I planted a lot of flowers back in the ungrassed area that would come up early Spring, always a good time. Just reminescing makes me happy.
