my daughter really likes the tasting menus, they obviously change regularly.  I went along with her wishes.  I'm happy that I did.

I'm not sure what a prix fixe is, but it doesn't look like a Nebraska term.

It means a set price for a multi-course meal.  Often includes an app, main course, and desert. Sometimes more courses than that. Might or might not have a separate fixed price for a wine pairing add-on.

You can think of it kind of like this:

After storms last night, it's a beautiful day here.  I went over to the park and threw off the tennis practice wall and ran steps, worked up quite a sweat.

My wife is bringing suishi for lunch from Kroger, we both like it.

My eye exam yesterday was fine.

I'm slightly sore.

Thank you for asking, I felt clueless.

Today my students promoted to high school.  And thus, my one-year mistake of teaching 8th grade is over.
FUUUUUCK.

Our 8th graders have been awful this year. I've had to go sit in a classroom to help the teachers with them several times this year. And these are good, veteran teachers who can handle their classrooms.

I had the option of "teaching" every year in college, lab courses.  The freshmen were the best, they were most inquisitive and mostly cheerful, eager to learn.  The seniors were pretty much going to med school, they were really smart, mostly, but beaten down quite a bit, they put their heads down and did whatever was needed.

The sophs and juniors were the worst, they were a mix of kids going to med school and kids with little shot at it, they were always asking "Is this going to be on the test?" and "Why do I need to learn this?".  They were often whiners.

I can't remember anything about 8th grade.  That was high school for us, they didn't have junior highs.

I remember my 8th grade social studies teacher. She was young--pretty much fresh out of college.

It was really funny the summer after that year when I was playing our local muni golf course and ran into her as she was driving the beverage cart. I'd guess she got some decent tips.

Some in our building want a "grill" out by the pool, propane etc.  Some dude posted on FB how we should all vote yes on the proposal.  I pointed out how a grill is NOT a barbecue, made my day, he got quite annoyed.  I don't know who he is.

I also told everyone to vote NO! and that I was very much against it.  That also annoyed him.

My wife thinks it would be a disaster, and something we don't need, at all.

I'm thinking of posting that IF a bullet were to hit the propane tank it would burn the building down.

I went back to post how it would contribute to more climate change, but the dude took it all down.  Wuss.

I was going to add how grilling increases the carcinogens in food, some of which are volatile and would permeate into units above the pool.

8th grade is a really fun year, before you get cut back down to size as a HS freshman.
