I like history, so Europe for me is always worth a visit.  I like wine, huh, they have wine in Europe too.  I like food.  They don't really have BBQ in Europe much at all though.

Going to Istanbul in April, should be interesting.

What they lack in the BBQ department they make up for in very well-aged cured/smoked meats.

Best smoked salmon of my life was in Europe, as well as interesting dried cured meats like bear that I got to try in Croatia last fall.

No doubt, but for me personally, a lack in the BBQ department is unacceptable.

Of course, we're headed to Istanbul in April, and I bet they lack in the Q department seriously.

Yeah, I like kebabs, and from what I can discern Turkish food in general.  Our neighbor is going to take us to a restaurant here somewhere that he says is authentic, but it's basically Greek food for the most part.

States I've purposely visited/been:  FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, DC, TN, LA, MS, AL, OH, IN, AZ, CA, NV, NM, CO, UT, WY.
Other sates I've been through:  AR, OK IL, MI
.
I'd like to visit Cooperstown before I die.  NYC.  Maybe Fenway.  I have no desire to visit northern New England or the upper midwest or the pacific northwest at all.  If I had to pick an area in the U.S., I guess it'd be Montana.  That might be nice/unique.
.
My desired locales are more tropical.  St. Somewhere.  Bora Bora.  The Maldives (before they're gone).  Something like that.
Cooperstown was a bit of a letdown for me.  I can't really say why, but it just was.  After a 3-hour drive (that felt like 4) from West Point, it just didn't live up to my expectations.  And then we had to turn around and drive back.  It was the first week in October, so it was a beautiful drive.  That was the high point.
See the Little Bighorn Battlefield if you go to Montana.  Be sure you take the depressing route through the Crow Reservation to get there.

States I've missed: New Hampshire (been 15 minutes away from it 4 or 5 times), Nebraska, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, NoDak, SoDak, Idaho.

Countries I've visited or lived in.  Mexico, Japan, S. Korea, Grenada, Barbados, (W.) Germany.
