You know that feeling when you're completely capable of working from home, you're the type who wakes up early and gets on the computer early, and that's a great way to actually make progress on your ever too tall pile of work you need to do?

But then your company says you have to come in 3 days a week? Throwing off your schedule... Wasting an hour+ of your day in a car when you could be productive... And so you go to your office, where instead of interacting with people F2F you sit in online meetings with your office door closed all damn day... Which you could have done equally well from home, saving an hour+ of productive time? And on your commute you have a half dozen idiots who you had to avoid to not sideswipe your car?

And then you realize that you've tried to make it through that day and get stuff done but the pile of work to do is now bigger than it was when you woke up?

Yeah, that was my day.

Wife and I have "TBD" on our menu for tonight... Thought we might go out somewhere. Think we'll order in instead. I don't think I can people any more today.

Ha! Lucky you.  Where I work ( worked? Not sure what my status is) we just have cubicles and what not. Not even really cubicles, just desks with little dividers between them.

I used to get this shit for $2.99/lb. WTF!

All the cheap cuts have exploded to the point where it doesn't make sense to buy it.

Yep.

We only buy flat iron and filets now, from a butcher, if we want meet. They also have good ground beef, and if you buy 5 pounds or more it's $5.29/lb.

Kallis German Butcher Shop, Kallis, Deutsche Metzgerei, EUROPEAN Specialties Store,

I used to eat red meat every day, at least once per day.

Now I take an iron supplement.

Grumpy.

When I was a kid, this was a little convenience store that I used to hang out in and buy baseball cards and bubble gum with my cousins. What a great neighborhood that was. Stuff like this did not happen - ever. My how things change.

I do enjoy a good cigar once in a while.......

but, if all the "smoke shops" like that one disappeared, I wouldn't be grumpy, that would make me happy

FedEx guy just had to drop off 5 boxes each containing a wheel, each box weighing about 30#.

I'll bet he was grumpy.

But I got my wheels! Now all I need to do is schedule with my local tire place and the Jeep will be appropriately shod.
