By the way I am rather enjoying this dicussion, so don't get me wrong.  I think most of us are proving we're capable of debating these issues without falling into political traps.

If ALL Boomers fit this then you might have a point.  But again this is just another generalization, and it's emotional rather than rational, which then precludes any legitimate discussion or debate.

Nuance, how does it even work???

There is no ALL of anything.  Didn't figure I had to couch my statements to the esteemed gentlemen on this forum, assuming that was a given.

Meh, generalizing "their failure to acknowledge" doesn't appear to be leaving any room at all for the many who have actively worked in the opposite direction for decades.

I think it's pretty funny, and entirely fitting, that we're having this discussion on the old man grumpy thread.

I started watching Miracle on Ice last night pretty late (for me).  We'd had friends over for dinner, and I had opened a bottle of Champagne and then a Napa red with dinner, so I figured I'd open one more bottle for me, late.  Watched the entire movie, one glass turned into two, then the bottle contents evaporated.  Now it really was late, and this morning I can feel some of the effects, not terrible, not terrific either.

Today is packing day for the trip.

Yeah I really can't stand leaving an opened bottle of wine to just sit around.  Sometimes you just gotta take care of things yourself...

It was this one, not M on I.  Pretty good flick, sort of predictable ending though....

My truck has been in the shop for two weeks today and they keep moving the completion date back.  Said some parts are on national back-order with no ETA.  I'm gonna have to turn in my rental car soon because insurance isn't paying for it and it's adding up.  I've got a dr. appt. tomorrow and another one on Thursday that I have to be able to get to and back from work, but after that, I need to turn the rental in.  Wife and stepson are gonna have to accommodate a plan to get me to and from work, between them.  They're not gonna like that, but oh well.

Then on the way to work this morning, HER car breaks down.  Hoping roadside assistance can get her going, at least good enough to make it to our mechanic.  If not, that's gonna be a tow, and her car will be in the shop for however many days.

I would like a do-over on the entire last month.

I'd be very grumpy.

I'm chuckling at this point.  Possibly to keep from banging my head on the desk.
