It’s not why Michigan lost by any means, but no one has a problem with coaches purposely misleading that players are hurt and not playing when it’s not the truth? Where did the moral high ground suddenly disappear to hear? Doesn’t fit your current narrative?

Have to agree with you. That’s flat out against the rules.  Should be more than just a meaningless fine. Otherwise- why bother having the rule.

Is it a rule? MDot indicated earlier, that it is not.

Your right. Went back and read more closely.

But then if it's not a rule, why would there be a fine?  Something isn't adding up.

Anyway, is the case here, that they ran out of players at that position due to injury, and then had to reactivate someone who was also injured?  And if so, how is that really a disadvantage?  Maybe I'm missing something?

This is where I'm at.

If it isn't a rule then why are we talking about it. However, why would there be a fine if it isn't against a rule?

Your second paragraph is also relevant. My understanding is that the kid played only because of an injury to someone in front of him. That doesn't smell like premeditated, Michigan-style cheating. That just looks like a situation where you ended up going back to an injured player because the situation demanded it.

Who was the fine from? It can't be the NCAA because given their pace if this violated an NCAA rule we wouldn't get a result until sometime in 2030. Maybe it was a conference fine based on broadcasting not competition.
