The ACC ought to be expelled from the P5, on the basis that they don't have a team called the Wildcats.

+1

btw, what non-P5 and FCS conferences also don't have any Wildcats?

... death penalty to those bastards, too!

Kentucky has toughened up under the new coach and won't lay down, but they likely won't win either.

Their best win was probably at South Carolina where they started to make a bit of noise.  Then they had the Florida debacle and looked like Old Kentucky at Home.  The beat another bowl team in 6-6 Missouri and then got shellacked a few times.

The did edge Tennessee, which perhaps says something.

NU got hosed by the bowl selection process

NU deserved a better bowl

I was going to point that out too, and ask in light of Michigan State getting passed over for the Outback by a Michigan St team they beat.
Michigan State still gets a good city destination, as does Northwestern to Nashville, but I was surprised a 9-3 ranked Northwestern team didn't get something closer to New Year's day.
What Bowl would Northwestern fans have rather had?

Granted, everyone got moved down a notch since the B1G had no playoff rep this time

That said, most peeps (both fans and 'experts') think we should've gotten the Holiday Bowl instead of Michigan State (who we beat)

Furthermore, it's also universally thought that it's b.s. unranked 8-4 Michigan (whose only win vs. a bowl-bound team was against 6-6 Purdue) jumped both ranked 9-3 Northwestern AND ranked 9-3 Michigan State to land in the more prestigious Outback on January 1st

Unfortunately, NU's fanbase will always be exponentially smaller than everyone else's so we'll likely never be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the bowl pecking order
.... as per the Pound the Talk PODCAST in one of my earlier posts, the contributors think this will prove to be our downfall when it comes to possible CFB Playoff and New Year's Six appearances as well  ~???

FWIW, if you count total enrollment, NU, at 21,208 (fall 2016) is larger than either Baylor (16,787) or TCU (10,394).
TCU was ranked #3 and Baylor #6 in the penultimate CFP rankings in 2014.  They ended up co-champs of the Big 12, and ranked in the CFP #6 and #5 respectively.  TCU went to the Peach Bowl that year, and Baylor went to the Cotton Bowl.
If Baylor and TCU can do it, I think NU can too.  The biggest obstacle for NU might be winning the B1G CCG.
