I don't think I would even put Archie in the top 10 offensive tackles of all time
Right! Orlando is like three of Archie.

Some schools might only have a Stone Mountain, instead of a Mt Rushmore.

A few could merely have a Crazy Horse.

For UNL, I'd probably have Devany over Ozzy.

I would probably pick Orlando Pace over Archie. For one, he played while I was alive so I am biased. But for two, you can make the case that he is the best offensive tackle of all time, not something I think you can do for Archie. I would probably pick A.J. Hawk for defense, but again, I'm biased by having seen him as opposed to Jack Tatum or guys like that.
I thought about both of those. I'm with you, Archie and Tatum were before my time but I was in school when Pace played.

The two Heismans swayed me. As for Hawk vs Tatum, Tatum was close to the Heisman, I don't think Hawk was.

I don't know that either was very close. Tatum came in 7th in 1970 and 10th in 1969, while Hawk came in 6th in 2005. But they were miles behind the leaders.

Purdue:

  • Coach: Jack Mollenkopf. By a landslide. Stands alone.
  • QB: Drew Brees. Honorable mention to Bob Griese but opting for Brees because it's more of the modern passing era.
  • Offense: Leroy Keyes. Honorable mention to Mike Alstott.
  • Defense: Rod Woodson. Honorable mention to Ryan Kerrigan.

Looks appropriate.

I'll do sort of a reverse-Rushmore based on who an archival hated the most, which means it might be pretty close to what an actual Sooner might say:

Barry $witzer
Josh Heupel
Adrian Peterson
Brian Bosworth
