there is NO WAY in hell that Michigan beats Michigan State in East Lansing. Just don't see it. Not with that passing game.

Michigan's running game is better than State's IMO

don't know if it's enough better to get the "W"

State's passing game is better than Michigan's.

Both have very solid defenses.

This will be real battle.

QB/WR/TE, advantage Michigan State, and I think by a lot.

Running back is probably a toss-up. Walker I think is the best, but Michigan has the next three, and they aren't that far behind.

Offensive line is Michigan by a mile. Imo the single biggest positional advantage in the matchup.

Defensive line is also probably a toss-up, similar to running back, but flipped. Hutchinson is the best singular player, but I think MSU has more guys.  And Panasiuk is leading the nation in QB pressures per PFF.

Linebacker is pretty clearly Michigan, but not by as wide a margin as o line.  MSU has Halladay and nothing.

Secondaries look pretty similar to me. Both have question marks at cornerback, but pretty solid safety play.

Special teams are also pretty similar. Both teams have great punters. Both teams have potentially great kickers, but I'll give the edge to Michigan, because they have more consistency.  Coghlin hit a pair of 50 yarders against Indiana, so hopefully he has turned a corner. I think he had missed every field goal from outside 40 yards prior to that this season

yup, paired with those two RBs, I give slight advantage Wolverines

Spartan's at home and the Harbaugh factor - dead heat

The odds are out for the B1G games scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 30, per Circa Sports.
Here’s where they are to start:

if ya put a gun to my head, I'd take the points and Sparty at home

otherwise I'd stay away from a wager

Oddly MSU has played better in Ann Arbor recently.  Since 2014, when Michigan was a dumpster fire, and Hoke got fired, MSU is 3-1 in Ann Arbor, but 0-2 in East Lansing

Also, I want it on the record that rivalries are my favorite part of college football, but I hate absolutely everything about this rivalry, and always have, even rooting from both sides of it. It's gross and personal and nasty, and not in fun ways.

90% of the terrible fan behavior I have seen in person, has been at Michigan-MSU games.  And it's always the home fans, with the confidence of 80% of the fan base at their back

Really good analysis.

Michigan has been without two starting Guards last couple weeks- Keegan & Zinter- but both should be back for Michigan State game.

I think Michigan has the edge at RB simply because they have two high level guys, not just one like MSU. And I honestly think Corum is the best/most talented of all 3 of them- but he gets the fewest touches/carries.

It is suppose to rain, and if it does rain it helps neutralize MSU's biggest advantage and that is their QB/WR's v. Michigan's QB/WR's. So I am hoping for the rain.
