James Franklin Meets His Mountain Mama (SOC 9/2/23)
« on: September 02, 2023, 07:10:33 AM »
Howdy everyone. With Minny/Nebraska and Michigan State giving us a taste, today is middle aged man Christmas, the first full college football day of the year. My wife is off on a girl's trip. I'm about the drop the younger kids off with my parents. The older kid is still around, but she drives and will probably do her own thing.

So not cooking anything. I've got a fridge full of Oktoberfest and plenty options from Doordash. Are we thinking wings? Pizza? Pizza and wings? Shoot, maybe I'll dash a few different things. Can you get them to stop multiple places?

Schedule
  • East Carolina at #2 Michigan, Noon, Peacock
  • Utah State at #25 Iowa, Noon, FS1
  • Fresno State at Purdue, BTN
  • #3 Ohio State at Indiana, 3:30, CBS
  • Buffalo at #19 Wisconsin, 3:30, FS1
  • Towson at Maryland, 3:30 BTN
  • West Virginia at Penn State, 7 pm, NBC
  • Toledo at Illinois, 7:30, BTN
Others
  • Virginia at #12 Tennessee, Noon, ABC
  • Colorado at #17 TCU, Noon, Fox
  • Boise State at #10 Washington, 3:30, ABC
  • #21 North Carolina at South Carolina, 7:30, ABC

Good morning all!

I don't know anything about how Door dash works - I think I used them one time??

Not gonna cook today either. Got stuff to do in town so will probably put in a Lou Malnati's pizza. That's always good.

Looking forward to seeing how this new Wisconsin team will do.

Doordash is easy, you just order what you want and pay through the nose to have it delivered. I usually only use it when I don't want to cook and I'm in no fit state to drive around. Like today!

There have been rumors forever of Lou Malnati's opening in Columbus. Still nothing. I love a good deep dish. Giordano's opened, but it doesn't quite do it for me.

Yeah, Giordano's kinda sucks. We never used to go there. Uno's too. Blech.

For $120, I get 6 Lou's with toppings of my choice. Bake for 50 minutes and I'm in Chicago.

that's too high for me for frozen pizza

I'm having free brats and beers at the golf course - customer appreciation day there and I'm a good customer!

Tee time of 10:30 so will only catch the end of the noon games in the clubhouse
the motivated Brian Ferentz offense will be of interest
Purdue might be the better game
F prime on Fox

the not air raid in Wisconsin at 3:30

LOL I should do that just to see the wife's reaction to seeing the entire freezer filled with pizza.

They have a couple other deep dish places. Columbus is obsessed with old world pepperoni, which I'm not really a huge fan of, so I gotta figure out how to avoid it. The last one I got tasted like a salt lick, even if everything else was good.

We have a fridge in the garage, so it's not too bad.

I wonder how long that fridge will last. Prior owner bought in 2018 for the kitchen, but we bought a set of appliances in 2020 so that fridge went to the garage. It works hard out there, I'm sure.

Unos is awful.

There was a place near MSU that opened after I left that was really good.  I think I heard it closed
