Best burger stand burger I ever had was a green chili burger about 40 years ago at Lucky Boy in Albuquerque.

Legally, they are not, but "international law" is really a fiction, or whatever the winners decide it is.

I'm not sure what Iran can, or will, do here, that they are not already doing.
yeah, idk wtf you're going on about, but international law is not a fiction. it is a very real thing, to which the US and Israel are obligated to follow as signatories or parties to various international treaties.

some countries (US) are way too powerful to ever be held accountable for their actions and are even so powerful they can provide cover for their allies (Israel) fcked up heinous actions.

Iran will retaliate, and things will get more fcking crazy than they already are.

This is from wiki, which of course can be dubious, but we see competing claims.  Which is true?

On 1 April 2024, the Iranian consulate annex building adjacent to the Iranian embassy in Damascus was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike. Iranian ambassador Hossein Akbari alleged that the consulate building "was targeted with six missiles from Israeli F-35 warplanes".[14] Israeli officials claimed that the building was a legitimate military target as "an outpost of the Revolutionary Guards" that was disguised as a civilian consulate.[15][16]

  • Israel: IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari told reporters that, "According to our intelligence, this is neither a consulate nor an embassy." He further added that the target struck was a "military building of Quds forces disguised as a civilian structure in Damascus."[22] Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant said that "Israel is working to make it clear to everyone who acts against us, all over the Middle East, that the price for acting against Israel will be a heavy price."[23]
JFC man. For the last time, it was an embassy compound.

Israel is lying, which is what any government does to try and justify it's actions. They are trying to play semantics saying because there were military personnel on the embassy compound, it's not an embassy. Newsflash: embassy compounds = diplomats, spies, and military personnel. Every single one, regardless of nation, and in every single nation.

Air striking an embassy compound is a grave violation of international law and this will just create blowback and more instability and potential for larger war to breakout. Biden needs to grow a pair of balls get out of his nursing home pajamas and get Bibi on a fcking leash already.

Any location occupied by the enemy is a legitimate target.  Don't care if these IRGC officers were hiding under the Pope's bed.
yeah, how about no. Israel does not have a formal declaration of war against Iran- and even if they had- you don't go around bombing embassy compounds in other countries than the country you are aiming to attack. US does not even do this, and we bomb the sh*t out of everyone just for breakfast.

Sure, in a way, but Iran will attempt to use this to whip up more frenzy in its minions, if that is possible.  Such things could hinder Iran's plans a bit by taking out top leaders, but enable them to foment more terrorism down the road.  It could be counterproductive.

I expect the UN to step in and use harsh language.

If the UN has any real purpose today, I'm not seeing it.
UN can't really do sh*t about sh*t because: the United States. Aside from having permanent veto power at the UN, we are just way too powerful militarily & economically to ever be held accountable for anything we do, and are even so powerful that we can provide cover for "friends of ours". It's like a big giant mafia, and the US is the king sh*t.

UN is basically worthless, but they do serve a function. They are like a marriage counselor trying to keep husbands from battering their wives by talking it out. They probably prevent much larger scale world wars from breaking out. So there's that.

Any complaints from the world's largest sponsor of terror are at best comical.
hate to break it to you pal, but the US is the world's largest sponsor of terror in the entire world, has been since the close of WWII and it's not even remotely fcking close. our gov't has created more havoc, destruction, and death in other countries around the globe with our military & intelligence services than basically every other country combined. it's actually scarily impressive just how powerful the US has been since close of WWII to the present. not sure any empire in history has ever been as downright scary or as powerful.

i mean it's been great for the people who live here, we've reaped the benefits of world wide empire. been kinda sh*tty for most other countries though- and extremely sh*tty for anyone who doesn't fall in line and do what we say when we say.

I’m not convinced it was an embassy.

only small potatoes from poor countries in eastern europe, middle east, asia, africa, south america.

The major powers of the world: US, Russia, and China are all too powerful and all have veto power as permanent members of the UNSC and none of them recognize the ICC.

I'm convinced it was an embassy and I'm also convinced that it was also an Iranian military base running Iranian military operations under the protection of Iran's ally, Syria, from a much-closer range to their militaristic interests in Israel.

But it's also not unusual to stage special ops and even military operations from within an embassy, and it rarely leads to attacks.  It's always been understood that's a step too far.  So I agree that a direct attack on that militarized embassy is a tough action to defend, even if you know it's being used against you militarily, which history has proven is the exact thing Iran tends to do.

But what concerns me a lot more than Israel striking a known antagonistic militarized embassy that is almost certainly running operations against them, is what IDF did to the food/aid workers from the World Central Kitchen.  Systematically targeting and destroying an entire convoy of international civilian relief workers, as they're providing food to the starved Palestinians, is absolutely freaking terrible.  And the response has been near complete withdrawal of all food relief/aid in the area.  At this point it's hard not to question the intent of Israel, to think that they're intentionally preventing much-needed food from reaching the masses.  This is the one that makes me really, really angry.  They claim it's a mistake but the operation was a precision, surgical strike.

Can someone point out convincing evidence that building was part of the Iranian diplomatic embassy?

I failed to find any.
