My understanding is that SCOTUS ruled as it did because a state has no authority under the amendment they based their opinion on to affect a federal election but only state elections due process or no due process
SCOTUS ruled as it did because a state was interferring in a FEDERAL election via a completely novel and radical interpretation of section 3 of the 14th amendment.

It really is the end of an era. CNN created 24/7 tv news and had resources and a network of reporters all over the globe that was the envy of every news organization. CNN is on life support now and has been for years, they are not quite dead but nearly there. CNN is a laughing stock these days. CNN+ streaming service was a major disaster, their tv ratings are in the toilet, and their "reporting" is about as credible as The National Enquirer.

Rent prices impacted by 'apartment-building boom,' Redfin chief economist says | Fox Business
Rent prices impacted by 'apartment-building boom,' Redfin chief economist says | Fox Business

I sold my house in 2010, which wasn't the ideal time of course, but I figured I got out about what I put in to it in terms of improvements etc.  I'm not counting going costs, taxes etc.  Overall, it wasn't too different from renting a similar place, I think.

It had been the "American dream" to own, but I see that changing, perhaps longer term, with some consequences down the road.  One issue today is most of us can't deduct mortgage interest from our taxes (for now).  A lot of home owners now have ultra low interest loans they don't want to give up, so they are "stuck" in their current house, so to speak, which is probably good for Home Depot.

Nearly everything being built around us is apartments, high rise glass towers.
lot of reasons why the apartment building boom is happening.

you will own nothing and be happy.

the "American dream" heh...

We still have housing developments going up but everything is labeled 500k+ which actually means 700k+.    We also have a lot of apartments going up and people say there are wait lists in good neighborhoods.

We did have a developer who put in apartments and then smaller 350K-400K homes.  They were basically sold before built.  A lot of retirees wanted them to downsize yet still have a new home.  I know the money is better with the larger homes, but you'd think someone would realize the untapped market for smaller, affordable homes for retirees or even better, DINK's.
new single family homes around these parts say starting at $900k....which means....over $1 million. And that's for like 2,300 sq ft production garbage house. there just isn't any land anywhere, and the little bit that's left....very expensive and very much a pain in the ass to deal with the county or city to get it rezoned or get the densities.

Majorities in new poll doubt Biden, Trump mental capabilities | The Hill
very odd. seems like a bunch of bullsh*t to me. have yet to meet anyone in real life that doubts Trump's mental capabilities. maybe his character, attention span, personality, or his temperament, sure.

If only 6 out of 10 people question or doubt Biden's mental capabilities this country is surely fcked. That number needs to be at least 9 out of 10. Biden is so obviously visibly senile and decrepit. No lights on upstairs there. Poor bastard can't even stand up without falling over on a stage or walk up a flight of stairs. Or complete coherent sentences.

Port St Lucie Florida Homes for Sale | PGA Village Verano | Kolter Homes PSL

These are pretty common in Florida. $320 K and up.  A lot of up.  We looked at some back in 2010 that were $220K ish.  My wife thought they were too small and the lots were tiny and you were on top of your neighbors.  Heh, now our neighbors are even closer.

Around us, a decent two bedroom apartment is going to push $3 K.  They come with nice amenities.  A two bedroom condo in our building is $400 and up for 1,100 sf if you can find one.  They seem to get sold quickly.  And  there is a steep premium for higher floors with views even though your pricey view could end up being another building in  few years.
Yeah those look like zero lot lines and those houses are like 1,250 sq ft under A/C....starting at $321k....which means....the nice pics they show on the website from the model probably more like $450-500k with all the options. St Lucie is not too bad, it's getting packed though and it's growing like a weed and the traffic is nuts. Pretty good location, not that far from West Palm Beach. Crazy though...best part of St Lucie might be Tradition and you could've got fully developed 1/3rd acre lots in there back in like 2009-11ish for like $10k.

Kolter is a pretty big regional production builder from south florida. they build a better house than the huge publicly traded national builders like DR Horton, Pulte, or Lennar....which are all pretty much build straight up garbage for the most part.

Your understanding is based on not reading the SCOTUS decision. So it's hearsay at best.

that's actually exactly what the SCOTUS says in regards to the Colorado courts novel and radical interpretation of section 3 of the 14th amendment of the constitution (an amendment by the way which was designed to keep high ranking Confederate politicians out of the US government after reconstruction post the fcking CIVIL WAR- not to keep the leading opposition candidate off ballots in 2024) on page 1 of their 20 page opinion....

Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse.

Colorado way over stepped their bounds on something that is not within their authority nor jurisdiction to do so. No need to read a single thing after that sentence. What Colorado did was wholly unconstitutional, radical, extreme, and reckless- which is why they got their clocks cleaned in the Supreme Court of the United States of America 9-0.
