It's a pretty small percentage of overall revenue generated by Federal taxes.

I finally got my next book out in paperback.  That is getting to be a slog, though at times I feel like writing, and others ...  and I never feel like proofing.

I need to go back and fix my earlier books.

Well, it's not as if they are best sellers.

Rent prices impacted by 'apartment-building boom,' Redfin chief economist says | Fox Business
Rent prices impacted by 'apartment-building boom,' Redfin chief economist says | Fox Business

I sold my house in 2010, which wasn't the ideal time of course, but I figured I got out about what I put in to it in terms of improvements etc.  I'm not counting going costs, taxes etc.  Overall, it wasn't too different from renting a similar place, I think.

It had been the "American dream" to own, but I see that changing, perhaps longer term, with some consequences down the road.  One issue today is most of us can't deduct mortgage interest from our taxes (for now).  A lot of home owners now have ultra low interest loans they don't want to give up, so they are "stuck" in their current house, so to speak, which is probably good for Home Depot.

Nearly everything being built around us is apartments, high rise glass towers.

We still have housing developments going up but everything is labeled 500k+ which actually means 700k+.    We also have a lot of apartments going up and people say there are wait lists in good neighborhoods.

We did have a developer who put in apartments and then smaller 350K-400K homes.   They were basically sold before built.   A lot of retirees wanted them to downsize yet still have a new home.  I know the money is better with the larger homes, but you'd think someone would realize the untapped market for smaller, affordable homes for retirees or even better, DINK's.

Port St Lucie Florida Homes for Sale | PGA Village Verano | Kolter Homes PSL

These are pretty common in Florida. $320 K and up.  A lot of up.  We looked at some back in 2010 that were $220K ish.  My wife thought they were too small and the lots were tiny and you were on top of your neighbors.  Heh, now our neighbors are even closer.

Around us, a decent two bedroom apartment is going to push $3 K.  They come with nice amenities.  A two bedroom condo in our building is $400 and up for 1,100 sf if you can find one.  They seem to get sold quickly.  And  there is a steep premium for higher floors with views even though your pricey view could end up being another building in  few years.

The last time I entered a long race I had women pushing baby strollers passing me by

I was so slow the cops following the race made me get off the road
I tell people that if they see me running, please kill whatever it is that is chasing me.
