Maybe if we all chip in?

100 Bay Rd, Naples, FL 34102 | MLS #224011822 | Zillow
ha, that's peanuts. hedge fund gazillionaire Ken Griffin is building a $1 billion compound on Palm Beach island.

They are coming here too. Lots of Illinois and California in the past couple of years.

I've met Ken Griffin. Seems like a really good guy. Glad to have him as a Florida resident.

That listing, by the way, is the highest in the country right now. How many buyers are there for a $300,000,000 home? Like 10?

Your first sentence is directly related (backwards) to the rest of your post.
Energy independence nullifies the importance of voting in our own smarmy guy to talk up the smarmy country.
Not needing the Saudis is a valid goal.
yeah, no. has nothing to do with energy independence at all. we hardly import energy from the saudis. haven't really gotten much from them for decades. read it all over again and then think about it long and hard.

yeah I've seen a lot of Chicago area, Boston area, and NYC area people come down in droves this way. most of which have $$$$. those areas are bleeding population to Florida- and it's mainly people with money. thankfully I haven't seen very many Californians. they can go ruin other parts of this country- stay the fk out of Florida please.

my hope is that these people who are fleeing the Democrat run sh*tholes they are escaping from remember why they are fleeing those shitholes and don't fk this amazing place up. If not I say we deport 'em back.

there's more than 10 people that could afford to buy that house. how many of them that can afford it actually would buy it? probably not very many. Naples has the disadvantage of being on the other coast. Seems like all the billionaires want to live in Palm Beach or Miami right now.

This morning, I was up early and unloaded the dishwasher.  I was starting with the cutlery when I determined the machine had indeed not been run.  I had to take all the plates and bowls back out and turn it on.

As for knife positioning, I learned not to put sharp knives in facing down.  It wears holes in the baskets and they are pricey to replace.

I'm getting younger all the time.
I learned that you NEVER put good sharp knives in the dishwasher, period. Hand-wash only.

I like this coast better then the other side. I wouldn't want to be anywhere in Miami-Palm Beach. Traffic is bad enough over here, to me. That side... ouch.

Heh, telling New Yorkers to leave south Florida. For generations the way they do that is in a casket.

that's changing. unfortunately. they aren't coming down just for season anymore. they aren't fking leaving now. New Yorkers in their 30s, 40s, and 50s are moving down here permanently in record numbers. And it's mostly ones with money. It's not just the retirees who will die off in 10 years or less or the seasonal crowd. can deal with that. now they just aren't fking leaving and it sucks.

I've seen these bumper stickers around. And yes, many are perma-residents.

I've seen some California ones too, but not as many.

It's very true - not many people are actually from here.

But most of us came for more than just the weather. No state income tax, no pension debt, budget surpluses every year, low property tax, lower crime, etc. A well-run state and we'd like to keep it that way.

We wish we could have moved here 20 years ago.

I don't put my good knives in it, but steak knives and some cheap paring knives I do.
