So Cindy yesterday drove out of the burbs to where the buses don't run and found a road side stand.Ya know the kind with the sign made out of cardboard and permanent marker.Any way she procured grown on the adjacent farm cukes,Heirlooms and sweet corn. I picked up from the butcher some smoked cheddar/jalapeno Bratwurst .So I lightly steamed the brats and corn, she sliced up the heirlooms and cukes and just salt & peppered them and butter on the corn. I can't recall something so simple & easy yet delicious - the most satisfying meal in I don't know when .Chased that down with a Molson Canadian .Nice day to sunny mid 70s with a nice breeze off the lake 😎

I wouldn't think that possible, is it?  Something about proving a negative (which can be done in some cases).
Correct.
It's called "unfalsifiable" and instead of being the plus he probably thinks it is, it actually makes his claim fallacious, lol.
But I bet he doesn't let that deter him!

A penetrating intellect expressing unassailable logic and reason, with wit and humor and a warmth and generosity of spirit, utilizing an unsurpassed command of the English language that is a joy to consume.

TSL is a... well, diabolically accurate portrayal of man's perpetual spiritual and psychological condition.

MC is a collection of radio addresses delivered by Lewis during WWII, as the Nazi Blitz rained bombs on England.  He calmly and cheerfully, but forcefully, gave what I consider the most satisfying intellectual case for Christianity ever made.  One of the great minds of all time, skillfully crafting his argument to be understood by the common man.

There will be a long line in Heaven of former Whateverists who were enlightened by Lewis, waiting their turn to express their gratitude to this incomparable man.

I will be in it.

That's a lot of good stuff, but I don't see the word "evidence" anywhere.

It isn't, but it is blessed and is symbolic.
Buuuuuut they think it is literally the flesh of Christ.
What makes you (Protestants) right and them wrong?

I don't have to because I didn't make the claim that he didn't exist.
I said we don't know that he did exist.
You make the claim, so the burden of proof is on you, friend.

Yes. The truth.

Act like I've spent my entire live believing in God, and that's just been shattered. I've now accepted that when I die, it's all over. By the time my grandkids pass away, I'll be completely unremembered and nothing I do in my life, good or bad, is of any importance whatsoever, in the grand scheme of things.

What "truth" do you have that replaces existential despair?
For a time, sure.
But it's the same as with any bad news - the sooner you hear it, the sooner you can move on.
The great thing about there being absolutely no reason for our existence is that the only thing you should do is live your one and only life in the most enjoyable way you can.
This doesn't mean a life of hedonism, as religious people seem to assume, but simply a good, enjoyable life with loved ones and proactively seeking happiness.  Your life becomes more precious when you're convinced you're worm food when you die.
.
I can't believe I'm debating the promotion of an obvious colossal lie to make people feel better.  We're adults.  We can deal.  We're not ignorant hunter-gatherers worried that the apple we stole caused the tornado that happened.
Prolonging the big fat lie will only make it worse.

I've eaten a lot of those stale wafers in my day.

Never thought I was cannable.

Same with the watered-down wine.

I've never had a sip of blood, unless it was my own wound I was trying to stop.

If a religious belief set comforts a person and gives them useful purpose, I have no objection to it.

some folks are not satisfied keeping their religious beliefs to themselves

They feel the need to either spread the word or spread the non belief word

either way there is nothing being spread but pointless dialogue

very similar to ranking one team above another prior to the start of the season

I feel the same way, except....we have politicians and decision-makers steering their actions with those religious beliefs.  If they kept it to themselves and kept it at home - NO problem with that.  But they don't.

Well, I have no control over politicians obviously.  If they didn't do that, they'd do something else I dislike.  I suspect many of them are not very religious but see it as a key to being reelected.  So, they pander to a crowd.

They all do it, or nearly all.  Look at how the Democrats pander to the climate change alarmists with fake actions that are expensive and basically pointless.  That is a kind of religion, to me, a belief in a thing with no real knowledge of it.

Ban soft cheese.
