Facts. We would consider moving - our income is up and our oldest daughter will graduate soon. But our rate is 2.5 and everything is about double what was on the market when we bought 6 years ago. So lol hell no. I just need Biden to increase immigration so we can get a remodel for a competitive price and done on time.
Have you seen the quality of construction in Mexico? ;)

Heck, even in Cabo's most luxurious area where we stay you can see the way the cobble things together.

Oh, and they work REALLY slow. We've been watching one house being built for the last two times we were there. Maybe this time it will be done. We go every January.

The oldest continuously operating brewery in the world is located at Weihenstephan Abbey in Bavaria, Germany. The Benedictine monks at Weihenstephan began brewing beer in 1040 AD.

There are already plenty of unlicensed illegal immigrants that will do a super shitty job for you on your remodel without pulling permits and for dirt cheap. Hang around any Home Depot and you'll find them. You'll most likely wind up having to tear shit out and re-do it again, but hey you'll get a deal.

I laugh that people actually think Democrats differ from Republicans in any substantial way. They are virtually the same, and many times they are actually worse. It's all talking points, demagoguery, political theater, and optics. Biden is not pro immigration nor has he ever been. When people show you who they are, believe them. And Biden has shown his ass for 50 years. He's a racist white supremacist at his core- this is the same man who partnered with reprehensible people like Jesse Helms and voted down federal funding of desegregating of schools via busing children and blathered on about not wanting his kids to grow up in a "racial jungle"- the same man who told black people they aren't black if they don't vote for him- which is ironic as all hell considering he wrote bill after bill after bill which devastated the Black community and locked up mostly brown and black inner city Americans for petty drug possession crimes. Crimes which fitting of destiny or irony or both- his own crack head failure of a son has broken a hundred thousand times over and never served a day in a jail cell over. Biden has not and will not increase immigration. His administration has bloated an already despicable heinous wasteful useless DHS (and therefore ICE's) budget by $6.5 billion per year (nearly $1 billion of which said increase will go directly to ICE) and his administration has already deported more people than the Trump administration I believe. Remember, this was a guy who was VP of the Obama administration that deported twice as many people in it's first term as Trump did in his sole term.

Eh, decent rant, but as a product of "desegregation via busing" I can declare that stupid-ass experiment to be a complete failure, and an extremely costly one.  I support anyone and everyone who voted against it. Let's go, Biden!

Racism is bad.  Busing was a total failure at addressing it.

Won't comment on the rest of the content of the rant, but I will never allow an opportunity to blast the dumbshittery that was busing, to pass.

They got the power back on a bit ahead of time, great, but I can't get either AC compressor to engage.

So, I cycled them several times and one is working now.  Cool air is almost as useful as hot water.  we watched them last night for a bit prepping the site etc., it's right below us, they were scurrying around quite a bit.  They opened the old transformer and pulled out three good sized "pins" which I gather conducted the current from A to B, and pulled out some other stuff.  We got tired and went to sleep, woke up at 4 when the power kicked back on.  The new transformer is quite a bit larger than the old, both sat on the ground, the new one is about 3 feet cubed I'd guess?  They told us our building and the one next door were impacted, so perhaps 200 units?

I wonder what the population distribution would be without Mr. Carrier.
In the 1940 census Georgia’s population was just over 3M and Florida's was under 2M. By comparison, Ohio's population was substantially more than GA and FL combined.

In the most recent census Florida is the third most populous state and Georgia is 8th, immediately behind Ohio and gaining.

Give it a few more years. Georgia will pass Ohio soon enough.

We beat the mortage rate increase somewhat.  We sold out 5 bedroom house  (almost double what we paid for it 3 years earlier)with a 3.25 mortgage.  Couldn't have touch a similar house, but we downsized and built a 2 bedroom house for about what we originally bought our 5 bedroom for and have a 4.5% mortgage. No way we would have sold our house with the housing prices, increasing mortgage rates if we weren't downsizing and substantially lowered the amount we mortgages.

makes sense. 9 out of top 10 most desired new cities people want to move to....red states (typically tax & biz friendly) in the sun belt (nice weather).
