What's not to like about chicken and waffles?

And, what's not to like about shrimp and grits?

I bet you also think bacon and eggs are weird.

Maybe it's a great combo, I just wondered if this is a widely spread thing or more local.  I prefer shrimp cooked in other ways.

I like grits, I like shrimp, but together to me is a bit odd.  What I fix on occasion for my wife is grits with an easy over egg on top ...

Do y'all have "chicken and waffles" as a thing near you?  It's all over here as a brunch item etc.  I don't really get it.

The other one I find a bit odd is shrimp and grits.  I've had it, maybe once, it's what it says.  It's OK but I like my shrimp not buried in grits.  What rather odd menu items are popular in your area?
Yes to both. I like chicken and waffles, but rarely order them. Grits, meh.

We tried a new place yesterday for lunch.  It was outstanding, dunno how we missed it before now.

Anhs Kitchen (anhkitchenatl.com)

My wife had lemongrass chicken, I had beef pho, and learned how to pronounce pho.

She's doing a music course on line right now, we'll head out somewhere shortly, beautiful day here.

I think I like all kinds of Asian food, it's probably my favorite kind of ethnic food for the money.  I do like "Mex" a lot, and French if it's somewhat affordable.  We have a South American place near us that is very good and interesting.

Yup.  Shrimp and polenta together are awesome.  That combination has been around for ages.

Somebody in the US calls the exact same thing "shrimp and grits" and all of a sudden it's "new."
