NCAA president Charlie Baker told CBS broadcasters Greg Gumbel and Clark Kellogg that he'd like to discuss NIL with lawmakers in the nation's capital. That idea doesn't sit well with Barkley.

Barkley ultimately believes our politicians today are "awful people."

"Did he say we’re gonna ask the politicians to help us? See, that pisses me off already," Barkley said. "Our politicians are awful people. As I talked to Clark earlier because I asked him about y’all’s conversation, I would actually to people who actually care about basketball.

"I would put a committee together. I would love for Clark to be on the committee. Get some coaches, get some players and let’s try to work this thing out. We can’t ask these politicians nothing. Those people are awful people. Democrats and Republicans – they’re all crooks."

The sports world couldn't wait to chime in on this conversation. For the most part, fans agree with Barkley's stance on politicians.

Do you think your party wants to good for America and the other party doesnt?

It's fine to feel that way if you do.

I don't have a party.
I see that members of both parties at least think what they want is good for America....and both are often wrong, depending on the issue.
.
I swear to god, my posts about what I actually believe in (politically) are just plainly ignored.  I'm no the radical lefty many of you need me to be.  Sorry/not sorry.

I have a rule to help me chose which local candidate to vote for

this for local folks like judges etc

I generally vote rep unless the candidate has a nick name as part of their name

like Harold "Butch" Willis for example

I never vote for anyone with a nick name on the ballot
Another brilliant contribution.

How else do you expect to be treated when you share something like that?
"I never vote for anyone with ______" is idiotic, no matter what fills in the blank...especially when it's something utterly irrelevant to how effective a legislator they would be.
.
I mean honestly.

Am I out of line here?  Does anyone disagree with me?

Afroman sued by law enforcement officers who raided his home

Afroman has promised to countersue ‘for the undeniable damage this had on my clients, family, career and property.’

https://www.fox19.com/2023/03/22/afroman-sued-by-law-enforcment-officers-who-raided-his-home/

ADAMS COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - Seven members of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office who raided Joseph Foreman’s home last year are now suing him claiming, among other things, that he invaded their privacy.

Four deputies, two sergeants and a detective are claiming Foreman (a.k.a. “Afroman”) took footage of their faces obtained during the raid and used it in music videos and social media posts without their consent, a misdemeanor violation under Ohio Revised Code.

They’re also suing on civil grounds, saying Foreman’s use of their faces (i.e. personas) in the videos and social media posts resulted in their “emotional distress, embarrassment, ridicule, loss of reputation and humiliation.”

The plaintiffs say they’re entitled to all of Foreman’s profits from his use of their personas. That includes, according to the complaint, proceeds from the songs, music videos and live event tickets as well as the promotion of Foreman’s “Afroman” brand, under which he sells beer, marijuana, t-shirts and other merchandise.

Sheriff’s deputies acted on a warrant claiming probable cause existed that drugs and drug paraphernalia would be found on Foreman’s property and that trafficking and kidnapping had taken place there.

“They come up here with AR-15, traumatize my kids, destroyed my property, kick in my door, rip up and destroy my camera system,” he said in August.

The suspicions turned out to be unfounded. The Adams County Prosecutor’s Office said the raid failed to turn up probative criminal evidence, according to attorney Anna Castellini. No charges were ever filed.

I am kind of fascinated by this lawsuit. It has some interesting free speech elements.

My gut is that the initial lawsuit will be massively unsuccessful. I am less sure about the countersuit, so I am guessing it would be also unsuccessful.

I do expect 15% if it's successful, as I'm under the Afroman umbrella, of course.

We have an amazing bed in our RV and I get awesome sleep when we take it.  Way better than pretty much any hotel bed I've ever used.  The RV mattress is honestly better than our much more expensive mattress in the house, I should just replace that one with the same model we have in the RV.
We had the same situation in our boat. King Tempur-Pedic. Best mattress ever. I'd have kept it, but I had to cut it in spots to fit in the berth.

Yeah the foam mattresses are awesome for being able to cut/customize.  I bought a queen-sized Casper and cut it into 2 narrow twins for the kids' beds in the RV.

This is the brand of our queen-size in the RV master bedroom, it's so comfortable and ridiculously inexpensive:

If you're poor and live along the gulf coast, you have to travel 1,000 miles to get an abortion.  You don't have the money for gas and you can't afford to take the time off.
Where on the Gulf Coast would you drive to for an abortion?

I learn so many things here.
My mattress is nearly 30 years old.
It seems to be sufficient.  But I sleep well on crap hotel beds.
