Our smoke alarms are all connected to one another and when the battery in one dies, they all start beeping meaning that you essentially have to replace all of the batteries at the same time. And it usually happens in the middle of the night. What a pain in the rear.
Always.

Plus, if doing strength (and core strength) work helps me hit a little white ball farther, that's a win, right?!
Sounds like cheating

And you want to murder someone or kill yourself for having one located 16 feet off the ground mounted to a cathedral ceiling.

Been there.

I used to go up and do it. Now I write checks.

Ya know, I've owned boats for half of my life, and I really can't swim. I can swim in my pool, but in lakes or oceans I get weirded out. I really like being on top of the water, but I can't walk on it.

Probably could do enough to not drown, but that's about it. It's a work in progress.

Swimming is tough for me.  I don't float.  Something about body density or whatever, but I genuinely don't float.  Not even in saltwater.

So if I'm in the water, I have to constantly be moving, treading water or attempting to swim, to stay on top of it.  It tires a person out pretty quickly.

I know how to swim, and I can swim some laps when I want, and I can swim well enough to get to the edge of the lake if my boat goes down in the middle, but I'll never be a triathlete, that's for sure.

A few weeks back, I jacked up my ankle and then calf as a result of stumbling while trying to run 10 miles (well, successfully running 10 miles, but more than half of it was on a compromised ankle).

Since then, we mostly have stuck to upper body work, which isn’t bad, but I don’t think I’m pushing myself enough.

Today I tried my second run since getting dinged up. Only 3 miles, and early diagnosis involves calf soreness on the affected leg and a little Achilles weirdness on the other side

Thanx for the heads up or in your case above water 😎

It's the opposite of that stupid commercial where the guy contemplates, ya know, actually improving his life and fitness, and Fowler tells him "or you could just buy distance play Aerojet".

As for swimming, I swim well enough to not die. That's all I've really set as my goal though.

You don't have to swim faster than the shark, you just have to not be the slowest swimmer in the group

Despite living here, I don't swim in the ocean (or really even go in). I'm not a beach guy in general. I like drinking in view of water more than going in it.

If I'm swimming, it's most likely to be in a swimming pool. And if a shark gets me there, well, I guess I had it comin'.

I’ll admit to being an out of shape fat ass. Been doing jobs that require a certain amount of physical work most of my life. Can’t imagine going to the gym after working in 95 deg  F heat most of the day. And I eat too much.

But I’d like to lose weight and get in shape. Time seems to be my enemy.

Just an awful system.
