I don't plan to watch another Purdue sporting event unless they A) get to the Rose Bowl or B) make it to the Final Four.

Since neither of those things are likely to happen in my lifetime, I'd say my schedule has cleared up significantly.

I hear ya.

Good thing I'm a big fan of volleyball and college baseball, or else my sporting world would be pretty bleak.

At least you get that....I'm hanging on to women's basketball, ffs.  We used to be a #gymschool, but looks like even the tiny acrobats aren't all that this year.

Not gonna get into that.

I haven't watched a Purdue sporting event since the NCAAT last year.

So after all that suffering, you willingly sat out the only Big Ten CCG appearance that they are going to have in your lifetime?

Damn right.

Buddy texted me as halftime approached (and Purdue was still within striking distance). I told him Michigan vs Purdue was like Purdue vs a MAC team. Sometimes that MAC team can hang for a bit, but once you hit the 2nd half the depth and talent of the better team takes over. Only if there are multiple turnovers after that, can the lesser team hang around and threaten in the 4th qtr. And just like that, Michigan pulled away in the 2nd half.

I didn't watch it and feel really good about that decision.

My rule would be "until they win a Rose Bowl" if I didn't live ~60 miles from the stadium and feel like if they actually made it there I'd have to go.

Purdue has lost the benefit of the doubt. I'm not getting emotionally involved in their sports. I know how it ends.

And I say that given that Purdue's basketball team is currently the #1 team in the national rankings.

They're not going to the Final Four. They'll find a banana peel somewhere to slip on.

They are going to be "playing in the Rose Bowl" every other year, when UCLA joins.

I'm pretty sure this was the last year that the champions of the B1G and PAC are tied to the Rose Bowl. Maybe one more?
