Canada is not what I'd call "socialist", nor is Sweden et al.  They have some socialist attributes, but their economies are based on free markets largely.

I prefer the terms "free markets" vs "central planning".

I'm not really sure why people (young people in particular) try to hold up the Nordic countries as examples of socialism.  They're not socialist, and in many ways are more capitalist than we are.

Temporary bridge to Pine Island was done last week. Sanibel Causeway still being worked on.

Amazing work is being done here.

Pine Island is not rich.

What does fix legal immigration mean?

Does it mean carefully screen immigrants and allow only a fixed number in each year?

Or does it mean allow everyone in but call them legal?

It’s funny because many don’t consider the US to be a bunch of socialists but in reality we have lots of socialists policies and programs. Social Security is probably the biggest. And we absolutely have a national healthcare socialist program, you just have to be over 65 to get it. Lots of community hospitals are part of a tax district. State university’s. And on and on.
