I don't watch any network TV, not news, not shows, nothing.  My wife watches some Hallmark stuff and local news, that's about it.  I've noticed a LOT of political hit commercials lately, which is not a shock.  Some PAC entity puts on an entirely negative commercial about a candidate.  They say nothing about the one they appear to support.

My "rule" would be that no ad could mention the name of a political opponent.  Maybe that's a free speech violation, but it would be nice.  A negative ad would have to mention "my opponent wants to kill puppies", instead of the name.

My guess is that has zero chance of happening of course.  I despise negative ads.  That is one reason we end up with such poor choices so often, I think.
I don’t think you need to worry about people who just purchased houses keeping up with rising rates. Damn near 100% of them got a 30 year fixed rate so their payments won’t be going up.

And yes there is a positive two rates going up. I read that 20% of home sellers had to lower their price in the last 30 days. For many years now that’s been 0%

We did a 10 year recently, but I plan to pay it off then as I'll be 65.

True on the second part. I’ve been looking here and there, just a bloodbath of a sellers market.

Also a traditional way to combat inflation.

It's just ethical stuff as a direct hypocrisy of his message, nothing major.  Do you really not know?

In my experience, various and sundry make predictions about the future economy and they can't all be right, one may be right by accident of course.  I've never seen a recession this widely predicted.  Some of course think we might land softly.  I think the Fed waited too late.  We had very high GDP growth all last year and they did nothing.

One of Walker's cornerstones is that all of society's ills are the fault of absentee fathers. Last week, it was discovered that Walker is an absentee father of another child that was not known, in addition to two more that he just acknowledged.

Based on the current crop of Republican candidates, flagrant hypocrisy is a requirement, not a crippling liability.

Hypocrisy seems to be a trait common to most politicians.

I did a 5 year ARM when we bought this place, and a year and a half later refinanced to a ten at a lower rate, didn't hit the bottom but did OK.  I should have it paid off well before ten years comes around.

My first loan on our house in Cincy was at 12.5%, and I thought that was a deal.  I refi'd that as well several times and eventually paid it off with a credit line as rates were dropping very fast and then paid that off.  That was a nice feeling, I didn't have any loans for 20 years or so until we bought this condo.  A 2 bedroom here is under contract for $860 K, they usually sell for around $500 K.  This one was updated quite a bit, but it's on the lowest floor.  I'm not sure what's going on with that really.

One bad thing about appreciation is the tax man usually catches up with it.  I already get dinged pretty hard on that.
